Plasti Dip a rc body ?

AngelowDoom, from my experience everything you said in your post is WROOOONG.

I use it on the inside of bodies. If you spray on a decent thickness (4-5 layers at least) you can peel it off in one go when you want a different paintjob. 10 minutes between layers is enough. Leave overnight to fully cure.

No masking is required because, when fully dry, you can outline the windows (or whatever) with a blade and peel them off!
Well that's just a lie, everything is correct, except a little exaggeration on the dry time. But it is very long compared to rc paint, that dries in a matter of seconds in warm conditions.
I have tried plasti dipp, both on the outside and the inside, so I know what I'm talking about. Painting on the inside is better, but it's much better result with rc paint. And on my project I wanted to add some fender flares a while after the paint job. With the result that when screwing on the flares, it twisted loose the dip.
The only benefits to plasti dip is that you don't need to mask, but when doing multilayer paint jobs that is also a downside. Cus if you mask it will be covered in a plastic layer, and it you plan to cut it out, well where shall you cut? Everything is covered in dip, so you can't see where to cut.

Well I to get bored of paint jobs sometimes. And I find it much easier to just mask off the windows and respray the body on the outside. It gives a more realistic look also, and is easier to do multiple colors. Plasti dip also hides some of the details on bodies, due to it is much thicker than regular paint.

about to paint my son's barrage body. he picked dark green (camo green).
will post results maybe this coming weekend.

Sprayed inside and out. Removed sponsor stickers and left light stickers and window trim on.
Carved around them with a hobby knife, peeled it off. Same for inside windows. I re applied all sponsor decals no problem. Even saved the funky looking grill decal.
Zero masking required.

I think he likes it. Mission accomplished. Plastidip is, in fact, rad. "thumbsup"

Glad he is happy.
But the thing is that it would be faster to mask it and paint it with lexan paint. And lexan paint hold up a lot better.
I also was pleased the first time I tried plasti dip. Not so much when I realized how fast it gets scratched.

My buddy used the rustoleum version of plastidip on his Gellande* II and it came out looking really nice. I was surprised to say the least. He used a grey color that turned out looking like a grey primer and I'm strongly considering using the same on my hilux "truggy" build I'm currently tinkering with.

Viva la plastidip revolucion!!!!

Oh and thats actually what i used on my sons barrage. The rustoleum version. Same stuff, different brand.
