I buy/cut/machine quite a bit of Delrin in both black and white. I find that the white is a bit more resilient, or will give a bit more before it may break, than the black. I also feel that the white tends to give a little more easily than the black. That being said, the black seems to chip/crack a little easier. It will not give as much as the white, and will be a tad more rigid feeling....but when it hits a certain point, it will just crack...where the white seems to give a little more bend before it breaks. I do not have any real-world numbers to back this up, but it is what I have observed.
In the case of JetBoat's rear tubes and the bending of axle shafts.....I have been running one of the first run of the original rear delrin tubes in black...and I have never even tweaked a rear axle, nor have I observed any tube bending. My truck has taken some pretty serious long falls with some nasty angles, and I have had no bent axles. The design of both of these products are so similar...except my tubes are black, and do not have the link reinforcement points. This goes back to my feelings from the first paragraph.
Once again, if looking at the material specs from McMaster, one would assume that the color makes no difference, but when in use the material seems to have some minor performance differences.
