post count??

I am just poking this is a good forum with alot of members. I fully believe in the 30/30 but if a guy was looking to screw some people over couldn't he just spend the $20 and start selling. If your selling junk or fake items it's 100% profit. Just my thought but I have never practiced scamming.

If you can't figure out how to link photos from photobucket to here to sell your stuff I feel sorry for you. Is this your first day on the interwebz?

Your rig turns into a giant orange pumpkin. Just kidding.

You need a minimum of 30 days and a minimum of 30 posts.
No time limit to get the 30 posts.

Crap but what if your rig is already a giant orange pumpkin..lol..

GOT YA!! I figured I read it wrong I have a habit of doing that.. Thanks k7zpj for cleaning that up for me...

What's funny is when my star expired I lost access to the classifieds...no idea why cause I have been here plenty and have enough post...but I still bought another star cause this forum has taught me soooo much and saved me more then enough to cover it's cost!! Go forum!!

Gee - I joined up here 2 days ago, and already have 20 posts - 30 doesnt seem like it will be that hard...
30 days, eh, I will live that long - it could be worse.

Another site I belong to has a MUCH stiffer policy on accessing the buy/sell/trade forums - "New members are not allowed to access the Buy/Sale/Trade area until they have been registered for at least one year, or have been registered for 180 days and accumulated 150 posts or more."

so 30 days/30 posts is no big deal.

Theres a couple sites that u have to be voted on to get in.. its crazy how strict some sites are just to get in the Buy/sell/trade forum.. I mean if someone wants something so bad you can find it..

Honest truth - I am not the one that does most of the buying around my house - that would be the other half. He is always buying something - LOL we get packages all the time that I had no idea were coming. But it is more fun that way. =)

So, I could really care less if I get into the classifieds right away or not - it isnt a huge deal to me. I am more interested in learning as much as I can about the hobby - learning the tips, tricks, & techniques of building a good vehicle. One that will hold up to a bit of abuse, and be lots of fun to run - even if it is just goofing off in my own yard.

Lots of forums have a 30 post/30 day requirement, if not stricter. I personally don't think its that hard to deal with,if you make one non-useless post a day the time flies by. Or you could just pony up the $20 for a star and have instant access to the classifieds if that's all you're looking to get out of this site, but if that's the case why not just use eBay and not clutter the board up with useless post. That's just my opinion.

I have a question. It takes 30/30 to get on the classifieds which im not too worried about. How long/how many posts does it take to not be moderated. It seems to he taking my posts a day and a half to show up which makes it really hard to reply in a timely matter.

On the same note I do like the lack of spam. I run a website for my wheeling club and was over ran a few months ago and think im going to use your idea to moderate posts to get rid of that problem.

I just approved your post and to answer your question it's because you're in the single digits and using key words that our filter is set up for.

I totally understand the post count/join date rule. I'm a member of some 1:1 car forums, and they have a post count rule of 150 posts. Like others have said, it keeps people from just showing up and trying to rip people off. There are good members that just started I'm sure, but it only takes one to ruin it for all.

Wow your a nice fella and a great asset to the hobby.

Sorry there, Skippy, didn't mean to come across as rude or snide. Just asked how you thought it worked so I could get you pointed in the right direction.

Well anyways, when you're typing up a post (or a response) up along the top there should be a box with a light purple mountain and sun on a light yellow sky background. Hitting this button is how I add pics to a post. A box will pop up asking for the URL (web address) of the picture you want to insert. This is why you need to upload your pics somewhere, it has to be an actual website (photbucket, snapfish, RCC, etc.) I have a feeling that like many newbies you're thinking you can just post directly from your computer to your post. Nope, don't work like that. Not here or at any forum I've ever been to.
There's more tips and tricks to it than that, but this should get you started. There's a "Testing 1..2..3" area just below chit-chat where you can practice. (I'm) Pretty certain 'testing' posts don't show up in your post count, so don't throw a hissy-fit about those not bumping your count. And remember there's not a ton of traffic in that area, if you decide to ask for help in there, it won't get answered anytime soon. Better to come back out here and ask.
But if you spend some time practicing, you'll get more cred around here than the goober who has 1,700 posts and still don't know how to insert a link. Or, if you want, you can spend your days whining and being said goober, your experience here is all up to you. Not here to judge, whichever way you decide to go. Enjoy. "thumbsup"
