Just thought it would be neat to see some of the "hot rods" you guys have.

I have had:

1989 Civic Si with:

DOHC JDM b16A 180 hp Vtec engine 8200 RPM redline (ordered from Japan)
Centerforce clutch
aluminum 15 inch wheels
Falken tires
AEM intake
2.25 custom exhaust with Skunk2 muffler
Tokico 5 way adjustable struts
RS*R JDM springs
Front and rear Strut bars
No carpet, short shifter, Autometer Tach

Best 1/4 mile time: 13.77 at 104 mph

1990 Civic SI

Stock motor, 1.6 single cam
Extremely cherry, second owner
Factory ricaro seats
14 inch JDM rims
2.5 inch custom exhaust no CAT
Skunk2 suspension
AEM intake
freshly rebuilt motor, (had 160k on it, ran fine but I did it anyway)

Sold it for the car above, should have never done that, super clean reliable fun car.

Now I have a 1992 Mazda mx3

Limited edition 25th aniversary Black leather interior
Motor swap, put in a 2.5 V6 from a probe GT
B&M short shifter
Full stainless 2.5 inch BRULLEN exhaust
DC headers
PRM intake system
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
NX dry nitrous kit, 75 shot
ACT stage 3 clutch
Eihbach ground control adjustable suspension
Tokico gas adjustable struts
Corksport Strut bar

I have an entire extra motor in peices sitting in my garage, but this one is holding up great. A few of you guys have seen this car at a local crawl. I will have pics of the second Honda, and the Mazda shortly. Lets see your customs!;-)

civic, civic, mx3 with a ford engine. i assum you know **** all about cars if your proud of that list...

*utterly confused why you would buy a half decent mazda mx3, which are reknown for there excellent 3ltr v6's, and spoil it with a P.O.S ford*

3 liter? Good one, they only were offered in a 1.6 single cam a 1.6 twin cam 4 cylinder and a 1.8 v6..... And I am the one that doesnt know anything? Thanks for the ignorant comment.

If you havnt ever seen a civic to be proud of, than you must live under a rock man, no offense, this is 2006.

Pics to come in about a week when I get my new cam!

Yeah, you get the idea, here is someone that knows his stuff, telling me to put an rx7 motor in my car instead of posting a bunch of nothing based on no real facts.

I seriously considered that option of the 13B, but the task of making the car rear wheel drive would have been a lot of work. They do sell tranny adapter plates to run a FWD tranny, but once again, A pain in the but. Not going for a drag car, just a quick little daily driver.

why try and make a civic something it's never going to be? lets face it, most ricers spunk thousands into them trying to make it handle like a evo, impreza (best one i ever heard was someone compairing there civic to a 'rarri 575 pmsl) when instead of buying a evo/impreza would cost less, the car will not need to visit a bodyshop or tuners every week and will run for more than 200miles without ****ting itself allover the road when you try and drive fast. just doesn't make sence. oh, and if your one of these people who cry on about being "individual innit", other cars are popular for a reason.

keep mazdas mazda, keep chevys chevy, and keep fords chevy and you'll be set

btw

Blazzed, that may be true, like I said, I dont have a drag car, just a quick daily driver with a bit more spunk that stock.

Curt, I appreciate the input, and I see where you are comming from, but there is somthing to be said for the underdog who comes out running 7 seconds in a civic. Before I get flamed for that, check your facts, it has been done numerous times. Handleing wise, it takes a bit more to get the honda to handle, but in the end deffinitly has its advantages. Its all about where you put your money. My dream car is a 1967 camero. I know I make it seem as though I am baiased towards imports, but really I just want people to have more open minds. Sure I crapped my pants when I saw a sentra seR beat a 5.0, but I realized I was in denile. This is the future...

Um, are you aware that the 2.5 V6 ford and the 1.8 mazda share 95% of the same parts, the difference is all internal in port work and bore size...... So I did as you asked, I kept it Mazda.

yes i am, but you still pulled it out of an anal probe, so i cant forgive you for that :flipoff:

OK OK, LOL, I admit I wasnt too fond of the idea either, but after reading on it, I decided to do it anyway.

i've been at tracks and seen several 9 seconds civics, i know they exist allright! could hear them nearly 3 miles away.

Ford engine may have the same parts as the 1.8 mazda engine, but thats not what counts. People say "theres no replacement for displacement" but when theres 698cc differance its all about tuning. the japenease have the knowledge and technology to make the most of the 1.8 producing around 140ish bhp (can't remember exctally) so they've no need to up the displacement, where in american companys they relay on the accuall size of the motor producing the power, ie probe makes around 165 bhp with an extra 698cc, where the 2.5 has potential of nearer 200 with better use of timing etc.

Deffinitely true, the 2.5 is so chocked up and detuned it isnt even funny, they did that on purpose though.

Now for something completely different.

If I list all the mods, my wallet will start smoking, but it's fun as hell to drive and still running strong at 207k miles ;)
