If they could compete in Hondas to win, they would!!! These guys strive for any advantage they can gain, and obviousy, highly efficient imports can't do it!!

We (Americans) like them in dragsters simply because they kick a$$!!! You have yet to show ANYTHING as far as an import to beat any of the "real" 1/4 mile cars. Street races out of your high school parking lot don't count here.

Isn't F1 running 3 liter, turbo V8, V10, and V12's? I mean I remember when the Tyrrell/BMW was running a I-4 that made something like 1200HP.

I don't think "power" in necasarily there shortcoming. Again it's torque they lack. All things being equal, the motor w/ the most torque will win the race.
 
Glad you liked the videos.

These conversations can go on for days and prove nothing we don't already know, and even witness on TV.

Some people choose engines based on rules. Don't forget that.
 
I never said that they can't make power:lol:, just trying to rap my brain around peoples thinking.

F1 runs higher number of cylinders to make the most of the CI limits in the FIA. It is alot eaier on the engine parts to fling around 10 little pistons and rods then 4 big ones. Falls back under your lighter is better thing.
 
Torque can be multiplied, look at our R/C crawlers. If you can spin a small motor at a high RPM, then run it through a gear reduction (trans), torque can be quite high.
 
not true Dez, like I said, its power to weight ratio. Your truck has 3 times the torque my car has, and I could still drag you in a race...;-)

You are just dumb!! You can't figure out what info is in your favor or not. You have no idea what automobile "power" means, and even less, the differences between when different means of power come into effect. You want to debate for torque in one post, then resort back to horsepower in the next. You want to combine the concepts behind F1 and 1/4 dragsters into the same class as "cars." You yap about "boost" and chargers as if they are only available to imports. You can't prove any point that you have stated. "Replacement for displacement................................boost?" Come on!!! Displacement wtih boost vs displacement vs boost = bigger displacement wins. There is no replacement, outside of youngster ricer dreams.

This thread has become totally pointless simply because your pointless posts keep popping up in it.
