Prefab shed’s

Anyone out there had any luck with a wood prefab shed from Home Depot or Lowe’s? I’ve got a 10x10 concrete pad so I don’t need the prefab floor, I don’t think. Just wondering if it’s worth the money/effort or if anyones got suggestions. I’m no carpenter but I can build an engine so I figured I could put a shed together haha

A buddy of mine has one for probably over 5 years now and it's done him good. He has a mentality similar to me, to where if he notices some areas of a build that could use some reinforcement, he'll add reinforcement lol. So whether it was necessary or not, he added more bracing to his when he first got it.

I built a wooden shed from a kit many years ago. It was a kit that required some cutting and rafter assembly. It was from either Home Depot or Rona can’t recall which. No pieces were missing, but as Goro mentioned it certainly benefitted from some reinforcement. It was definitely the bare minimum ‘as is’.

Thanks for that input, I appreciate it. I own a skilsaw and know my way around wood enough to get in trouble so I should be solid haha

Your area playing into what you want to erect... Living in snow country, I went with a Tuff Shed, it has a higher snow rating than my house.

It also depends on how secure it need to be. Some of those prefabs can literally be gotten into, quickly, with a can opener.

Luckily I live in Southern California and at the end of a cul de sac and the shed is hidden behind the house being that we live at the end on a pie shape lot. But good call, I appreciate the input

In My Experience, No Pre Fab shed.
They are made very cheaply.
Not with 2x4s, more like 1x3s and are just built cheap.
I was going to buy one and decided to buy a kit from my local lumber yard.
They delivered all the wood and hardware.
If you need a hand to build, I'll gladly come out to help you.
On weekends, of course.

a guy i worked for bought a puff shed a 10x12 about 15 years ago its.solid as a rock its been moved 5 or 6 times its now in my storage yard
its all sheet rocked and insulated we built a loft i use it as.my hotel room when im in the bay area theres a futon up there a tv and a heater
its about 20ft from the ocean and dosent seem to have any rot anywere and is holding up really good
