Project: 78' Chevy K20 Long Bed "Ole' Heavy"

Re: Project: 78' Chevy K20 Long Bed "Ole' Heavy"

Well since the bumper is securely mounted now, I decided to repaint the bumper. The black was boring. Now it's all weathered and looking ugly[emoji16].

Found a great mud spot and put Ole Heavy through the paces. He ran like me a champ. Even though the old axial motor smelled like it was going to catch fire the whole time, it never stopped pulling. Love this truck!

Love it. Used to have a neighbor with a 2 door nearly identical to this. He used a section of large logging chain for “sliders/nerf bars/steps” to get into it.

Thanks bro. I tried to build it as close to a 1:1 as possible. By the reaction I'm getting from people I think I succeeded lol

I think succeeded is an understatment lol. Should send some pics to joshs you tubes ESP page

Holy fab work brother!

Very nice build, glad I went through the whole thing. In the last pictures here, it's tough to tell this is an RC. Well done.

Re: Project: 78' Chevy K20 Long Bed "Ole' Heavy"

Your photos would easily fool people into thinking this was a 1:1. Excellent work!

Thanks man. Just checked out the E.S.P. page on Facebook. Like it. But Ole Heavy isn't done yet. Still lots to do.

It has. Posted some on a 1:1 Facebook page. Everyone thought it was real. The admin of the page actually asked if it was for sale.

Made a set of antennas for Ole Heavy. They're actually plastic broom bristles glued into tiny brass tubes.

Ole Heavy has a roof rack now. I painted and weathered it just like everything else. Really like it. Took Ole Heavy out to get a good test of his new Tekin 35T motor. And I must say it was the most freakin fun I had with this rig so far. This motor is a beast! Runs smooth, tons of power, and I'm only running 2s.
