Well guys i finally jumped into the scale rc truck arena with a pretty good splash if i do say so myself. Deadshort sold me this awesome Axial based rig. For my first attempt at a scaler, I was going to go the 2.2 route, but i just couldnt make myself cut the body up to make the tires work, so i used the OMF 1.9 wheels with Flat Irons and i think the truck stands much better. The body is a Hummer H2 with i cut the back of the cab off and basically rebuilt the back to look like the SUT hummers just with the permanent bed cover and i painted flat black. The body sits a bit high, but i think it will be ok since it will give the suspension room to work. But this rig is great, i havent taken it out yet, but i do plan on doing that very soon, as soon as i stop tinkering with it. I do plan on a spare tire mount and of course the classic roof rack with scale bits in it. But for now, its kinda done. Heres some pics and enjoy! (I`ll post up some better pics when i take it out.)

I actually made a hinge system with some spare body mounts mounted on the frame facing to the sides and i used some rod ends and just slipped it over the body mounts. It doubles as a hinge to lift the body off and to keep the body straight side to side.

I dont have any flex shots yet, the shocks are not cooperating with me right now. I might have to change out the fluid itself, or switch to a better shock. Right now they look like some Pede shocks all around. I would prefer to run the stock Axial shocks just to keep spending down to a minimum lol But i can tell you the tires do tuck kind of nicely, I might trim the bottom of the stock bumper in the front to clear the tires a little bit better until i can get my hands on a front Honcho or aftermarket bumper.

thanks a lot :) I kinda wanted a low key look to it, but i will be adding a nice roof rack, spare tire mount and possibly some gas cans to hang off the back and front and rear bumpers with a front winch, not sure about that though with the gap between the bottom of the grill and the frame rails, the body is sitting a little to high to remove the front bumper and make or buy a front bumper that looks correct. I dont know, i might play around with it.

Add some inner fenderwells, waterproof it, add the rack and other scale bits and go. Those wheels and tires are a good fit for the body and the "look". It might actually drive pretty well with the shocks sorted out"thumbsup"

I havent done anything with the lights yet. I havent had time to work on it, let alone drive it. But, in due time, ill have this rig performing nicely.

Thanks Dead! I did in fact take it out one day and it performed pretty good actually. Not bad in fact for just getting the body on there and seeing what it would do without tweeking the shocks any. Im liking this rig! :)
