Project "farmboy"

Got a few tubes added, but will probably have minimal updates until Sunday, the 1:1 needs a little attention in the flavor of a 4link.

looking good. yea the rivit/screw was just an idea. in my race jeep i have rivets holding all the dash and console panels on. i just figured it would add a little to it. but either way it looks great

yea, i will definately be doing something eventually, still not sure how much room I am going to have inside the cab area for super detail work/havent really ever done something this small/never done a scale rc before so its all new to me/dont know how to plan it out/what I can actually do yet.

those seats are awsome dude. bear is ok if you cant afford cope "thumbsup". copes new flavors taste all the same, and niether taste like whisky or hickkory, both just like, bad chew heh.

color scheme for the tubes yet? or just gunna keep em,,, tube color?

gear monkey, the colors are going to be the same as the real chassis I posted in the first post, primer gray with orange flames on the grill/hood. I fiinished the 4link mounts, cleaned those up a little bit too. Time permitting tomorrow morning I should have a couple more tubes added/start on the metal interior.

Got a few more tubes added, mounted up the links, have some spaces issues on the front end but think I have it solved, atleast for now. Should have shock mounts made tomorrow finally f/r and hopefully get the motor/transmission mounted so I can ask yall what kind of battery pack I will need/how I am going to fit it in the chassis. Looking like the real deal yet?

are you gonna add some tube from the front shock hoops to the front loop for the cab? it doesnt seem like there will be any support for the front end if you dont.

Yes. I actually just finished mounting up the transmission and motor (will add more to that later, but its bolted in place) and I wanted to make sure I had access to the room to build all of that before I put on the front bars. The real one has tube up there, so will mine. And I will actually be trussing it more than the real one because i had to cut the lower chassis tubes (bottom area missing under front shock hoops) to clear the servo and axles. But now that all that is actually bolted up to the chassis I can build those bars on the front around the hood, motor, transmission, and axle/servo/4link. It sits pretty low so I have to check all the clearances.

this thing is SOOO cool!"thumbsup" Kepp it up, and one thing, STAY WITH THE ROCK CRUSHERS!!! NOT THE STOMPERS!!;-)

Finally brought the project back off the shelf, built a comp tlt rig and decided this thing needed some more attention. Seats are not yet finished, but getting close. And I made some mock up parts, colored the fuel cell and firewall to give myself some more motivation to finish, hopefully its not pouring tomorrow so I can cut and braze up some more tubes. The fuel cell will eventually be made of metal and will house either the ESC or the reciever, not sure yet, but both (tekin 2 or tq3 reciever) fit in there fine. This thing will also be getting a dig setup, which I am going to try to build and house completely in the subframe of the tube chassis so its all covered. The motor/tranny is mounted by 3 bolts, If I have the room down the road I might add another, but its pretty stout right now. Hopefully I'll have some more updates by the weekend, weather permitting.

sorry been out for awhile, seats are done, look pretty good. got some goodies added to the chassis, will get some pics up soon.

Actually not at the moment, started school again and have been moving my real buggy project to a new shop and been moving into a new house. But hopefully in the next couple days all that will be finished up enough to spend some time on this thing again. Got a couple neat little things I havent seen done yet I am going to try on it, should have pics in a couple days. Thanks for the interest, might have to set aside some time tomorrow for some pics.
