Project "farmboy"

Finally got this thing out of a box and have done some work over the past couple of days between my jobs. I have more done I just don't have pictures of that stuff yet. The shock mounts on the front axle are plastic I "welded" on as well as the entire rear axle truss (not even close to being finished). The interior is also plastic (90% I took from tupperware storage lids) and "welded" up the same way as well. Some joints are extremely strong and others I reinforced, such as the rear axle truss as it will see lots of punishment. The motor and transmission are mounted where I want them in the pics and they clear all links on the front axle and all dash pieces/hood as well. I painted the chassis because it had alot of surface rust from sitting in a box in the garage for so long so I cleaned it all off and sprayed a light coat on it. I have more tubes and tabs to add still and when I get there the chassis will be media blasted, final parts will be added and then painted again. Onto the pics...

Well I got a few more things done on it, took it out to play on some rocks too however the camera lost those pictures. I will get some more of it in action soon, for now here are some pics of it in its current state, glad to finally play with it, got burnt out on it but soon I will take it back apart and finish the chassis construction, build skid plates and add final scale details.

For my first attempt at a scale rig I am pretty happy with it, the next one however will be built with more scale details, this one was a good learning experience.

Finally got some free time and took this thing out for its first run. It was a blast to drive and was extremely capable. The only thing holding it back was the electronics as the A.I.esc burnt up when I got home and was driving it on the couch. It might be the last update on this build as Im thinking of putting it up for sale, but Im not sure on that. Either way enjoy the pics, and if there are every any new pics it will be with some real electronics and body work to finish hiding the electronics/batterys or will be from a new owner.
