project: Heavy Metal Hummer

That is the most badazzed CC for sure. Nice work! You could put a 4:1 in it for some lower gearing, but I'm sure you know that!

Can I ask how do I go about doing this type of gear reduction?

... the CC01 I have is bare bone stock, I use 16T pinions on it and it is still fast.

i was just wondering... What toy did this body come from? I really dig the looks of this and I saw a Toy that had this body at Wal-mart the other day... but it had a bunch of buttons sticking out of the roof... is that the right one, or is this a different one?

it's only been mentioned about a million times but here it goes again just for you... it came from a FASTLANE brand 1/10 scale r/c that is only available at TOYS R US (fastlane is their brand exclusively) and I promise I'm not typing this in a sarcastic frame of mind :) :) :)

I provide a link to the actual item just for you as well

and an image of the actual r/c that donated its body for this project :)

OMG THIS THING IS SICK!!! Nice work, I dont think anyone will ever build a CC01 that could even come close to holding a handle to that thing.

I might have missed it cause I scanned through the replys, but what are your thoughts about the R/C Channel rear axle and front suspension? I have been thinking about the setup for my Pajero and hopefully a couple of future Wranglers, but I was unsure of the durability and performance. They look killer under yours by the way.

+1

please tell us how you like the RC Channel setup! I was looking at it today and wondering how well they made it

Would anyone happen to know what King Cobra used for the upper arms on the front suspension? I have the current RC Channel kit for the CC01 and they don't use the same upper arm as is depicted in the pictures that I can find of this build.

I believe they were the uppers that came with the original version of the RC Channel kit. He was one of the first to do a build using the whole setup. It makes me sick that all of the build pics for this are gone now. Such a shame

it wont let me post anything yet.... how long do I have to wait...I just registered today

Love this so much, I've ordered the HX Hummer for the body, which is on it's way to me now from the US :)

I'll post pics when I get some spare time, I'll actually be starting a new thread for it as well. I think the revival of a legend deserves one. I'll be updating a few things to more Current parts like the winch and electronics but mostly it will be a disassemble, clean touch up etc deal.
