ok guys i need some help here. i finally put some electronics on this thing. and i am getting a huge of amount of intereference from something.

when i hit the steering and let it go, it will go all the way back and forth and maybe come back to center or maybe not. :shock: the ESC does the samething. it acts like i keep pulling the trigger then letting go and repeat.

i tried 2 different radios and RX, samething happens. anyone have any help?

Does it do the same thing outside of the chassis? Is something (exposed wire) touching the chassis? Did you pull the red wire from the ESC with the BEC plugged into the receiver?

this is me holding the rx outside the chassis, all wires are good, and yes. lol

My best advice is go through the electronics section and read read read and search search search. You're bound to find a similar issue with answers and/or advice. Also, google the crap out of the issue and add rccrawler and see what you find. You can also use the google custom search in the upper right corner of this screen to search the forum easier. I wish I had an answer for you. "thumbsup" Maybe try a new bec or redo your connections and solders?

I've found this advice valuable. Sometimes when you stare at something too hard for too long, you get blinders. Walk away...clear your head and then take a fresh look at it. More times than not, you'll find something you skipped over because you were concentrating too hard on one thing or the other.

Case in point, I spent an hour looking for a cake pan (yes a cake pan) for my wife that was in the garage. I tore it upside down and couldn't find it. I thought it was in a certain place. After looking everywhere, I found it. It was literally right where I thought it was supposed to be, almost in plain sight...right behind the one box I didn't move. It doesn't help with your issue, but again I spent an hour looking for something that I could have found in less than a minute if I didn't loose my head getting distracted and frustrated.

well i don't know if it anything to do with it. but i put a full charge in my battery and for some reason the servo quit glitching. but my ESC is still acting up. a buddy of mine ask if i switched it from "brushless" to "brushed" motor or not. so hopefully i'll get his castle link today to get that checked out. anybody think this could have anything to do with it? what exactly would this do?

yes, it will act up if not set to the proper motor style. i had a similar issue awhile back with a brushed motor hooked to a brushless capable esc. the esc i was using, defaulted/reset back to the brushless setting and it had me stumped for a few days as well.

it must be the fact that the battery was low on voltage causing the servo to act up. and apparently since i didn't check my speed control before trying it out, it was still on brushless motor setting. after switching it to brushed motor everything seems to work just fine.

i put my honcho tires and wheels on it and got some pics, don't mind the wires obviously they will get tied back better at final assembly. :lmao:

i drove it around alittle today at work, seems to work just fine. it's time to tear it back down to chassis and finish welding supension tabs. then start on body panels.

little update, sorry no pics.


i have started on the body panels. have to admit probably the hardest part of the build so far. the side panels are a huge PITA trying to get them in one piece, but i have one side done already. once i get the other side done i will get mounting tabs welded on then it's time for powder coat and final assembly.

i'm going with gloss black on the chassis and i'm getting some vinyl wrap done for my panels.
