Finally got around to getting some work done on this beast. I recently met up with some guys at a local spot and had a good run, despite taking a risk on not using a BEC with my new Lipo battery and losing my steering near the start of the run. Since then I've cleaned up the beast and added a few new scale goods.
Some action shots from our GTG.
I had a blast running up the mountain, and even though I had almost no steering for nearly the entire run, I still made it all the way to the top.
After I got the truck back home and cleaned up I installed a new Castle 10A BEC and started getting the truck back together. I won't bore ya with many build pix, so here's what I did.
Before the GTG I had already temporarily zip tied the driver in and added some scale goods to the rear, which I'm sure you might've noticed in the previous pix. Anyways, once I got the truck cleaned up I decided to finally finish up my five point harnesses I'd kinda had on the back burner. They turned out great, especially after repainting the driver's shirt with some black PlastiDip.
I also slapped an Axial sticker I had lying around to the shirt. Overall I'm pleased with the way it turned out but I kinda wish the PlastiDip would've been more of a flat black. Maybe down the road I can hit it with a dull coat or something.
Closer shot of the driver and the new harnesses.
In this shot you can see the fake quick releases I made for the harnesses.
The belt attachments are all soldered onto the inside half of a snap button, and the quick release is soldered to the outside half. When snapped together the release can rotate similar to its real life counterpart.
A shot of the goods in the rear.
A close up of the rear goods. It's hard to tell from this shot, but I've got a cord/hose running from the nitrous bottle to my reciever box/fuel cell.
All in all I'm super pumped about how this rig has turned out so far.
Now I just need to get it back outside and beat on it some more.
Hoping to have some new action shots soon. Stay tuned kiddos! "thumbsup"
