Proline Body Help

I have the Proline ambusher body and it does not seem to line up with the trucks wheel base (tires do not fit in the wheel wells)

and was wondering if the Proline Chevy Blazer CGR body was a better fit?

I do not want to mess with the links or anything and just want a body that will fit without any hassle. Thanks for your help.

Proline Chevy Blazer CGR has longer wb than kit.
I have to lenghten all links (lowers are 106mm instead of 91mm).

I dont know about the ambusher body but my cj8 body was a little long in the wheelbase area and all it took was stock axial ax-10 links in the rear pretty easy fix instead of buying a differnt body... JMO...

thats strange the wheelbase is off i could swear that the threads i read about the scx10 and ambush body the builders said they didnt have to change the links out. read through to i think either jason or badgers build that used the tan ambush body

Prolines web site says both bodies are a perfect fit....go figure.

yeah that happens i have afriend at work that wants to go with the ambush body and so far i had told him not to worry about the wheelbase now i guess he will have to

you will need to spend some time trimming out the wheelwells on the ambush bodies. it took me some time to get them to where i was happy with them.

Any chassis can be made to fit any body (within reason) with a simple link swap. Then you can keep the wheelwell trimming to a minimum, and get the clearance you need w/o having huge, gaping, hacked-open wheelwells that ruin the look of the body.

Unless you're drastically altering things, you won't need to do much else. I stretched my wheelbase from stock to 12 3/8" w/o needing to alter the driveshafts.

I stretched the rear only to keep it even easier (also to not alter the geometry of the Hand Bros. steering kit, and I just think it looks better too) Measurements port straight over instead of having to be divided for each end.

Hit the Ben Franklin or whatever you have near you and pick up a pair of cheap yardsticks. Drill holes in each for the axles, spaced apart the length you want your new wheelbase to be, and bolt 'em up like wheels. Then the chassis is jigged up securely so you can measure what length your new links need to be...

As you can see in this picture the rear tire does not fit in the wheel well. If you were to push down on that rear corner it would hit the tire. It looks to be about 1/4-1/2 to short. I also noticed you trimed the front wheel well. Again it is not a direct fit for the SCX10 or AX10 as it is advertied on the proline web page.

My OP was not to debate weather or not it fits it was to find a body that did with out having the ruin the look of the body to make it fit.

I trimmd mine and now (IMO) it looks like crap. I still need to sand/dremell the edges of the wells to smooth them out.

Hey two bodies fit good with out really changing anything, The Proline Blazer standard body, and theHPI dodge ram body.
