ProModeler Servo: 420oz, billet case, o-ringed, $79

After running my HV500 for about 3 weeks , Comping. Mine started acting wonky, Not wanting to center. Just generally shitting the bed when in a bind my 7950 would steer out of with ease..

I messaged John about it, Got a very generic reply after about a week of waiting, Just said f-it and put a 7950 back in, and the HV500 will be sitting in a box.. Its a shame too, Because I tell people all the time to buy HH, This is one I have trouble recommending tho.

The biggest issue I had with it was it did not know where center was, Sometimes it was here, Sometimes it was a there.

This isnt the thread you should have put this info into, try the HH servo or PM holmes or try calling them instead? Everyone knows he takes care of his customers but you need to contact him for best results.

update....

I have had this servo for 2 months now and have 15-20 hours on. I love this servo. I have ran it on 5.85v off esc with no brown out issues and at 7.4 with a castle bec.

Nothing seems to stop this servo and there is no centering noise....even if I try to force it off center

I've got mine packed with dielectric grease now and it's been run almost daily since December. It survived the Oregon RECON G6 without issue including about a dozen runs through the mud pit and multiple long tumbles off the final, un-climbable climb.

Needless to say, I'm still very happy with this purchase. It's the first servo that has lasted me more than three continuous months "thumbsup"

I've been running my Promodeler servo for 4-5 months now. Always on 7.4v and in my 2 heaviest rigs. It's in my go (kinda) fast bouncer now and has been flawless from day one. Noise from my other servos never really bothers me but the Promodeler is completely silent. I love the build quality and I am very impressed with the performance. This is my new go to servo until something better comes along that is the same price. ~$107 shipped for this servo is a steal compared to other choices In this price range.

Mine has 1 hour a day 5 days a week for going on 3 months now on 7.4v and it is running smoothly and happily.

Can't beat the customer service either.

How waterproof is the servo? I see the page is saying alum case with O-rings. Are you guys going back and doing anything to help the waterproof or just running it out of the box?

From first hand experience I can say it's water-resistant as-is. I ran mine out of the box and took no waterproofing measures. After about two months of running through the rainforest, the potentiometer got wet and I couldn't get it dried out. I sent it back and John got me fixed up. This time I packed it with dielectric grease and it's been running in the same type of conditions for almost six months with no further issue.

It survived multiple submarine expeditions this weekend, none intentional. However John for warned me as to its resistance, and it was packed with dielectric grease. I am working on a new build and I will be putting on in the new truck. Not once this weekend did I even think about the servo. To me that's a good thing.

But in all fairness my sons stock tactic didn't stop working either, and it intentionally went submarining. His BEC not so much, DOA.

DOA means Dead On Arrival which implies it was dead out of the box......... what happened here was murder. Your son murdered that poor BEC [emoji14]

Ok just checked again and you are right. 1st group work fine then the last 4 done work at all. If I copy the actual link into a browser it's dead.

You're not missing anything - those are pictures of version 1 which he doesn't sell anymore. In post #14 you can see the comparison between V2 and V3 and there are only a few similarities.

Ordered mine late Thursday night (Friday morning in Florida) and it was in my mailbox Monday.

If this thing works half as good as it looks I will be a happy camper

How are people buying these? Ordering from the site listed in this thread or are they getting in touch with someone directly?
