Question about applying large decals

So i am putting on some large decals for the windows and thought i read some where if you spray the body with soapy water or windex it will help you get the sticker on easier. Once you have the decal where you want it just push the windex out with a squegie. No idea how to spell that word!! I know some stickers if you don't get them perfect and try to pull them back off they are ruined. Does anyone know if this is true or have anyother idea.

Yes this is true...DON'T USE WINDEX..Use a mildly soapy water..Also another good tool to have a round for decals is a heat gun,most have adjustable temp..Normal hairdryer will work fine just dont get the decal to hot..Helps stick pain in the butt spots that dont wanna stick after you get all the water out,also helps with airbubbles after you put a pin hole in it to release the air,helps to stretch the decal around bends and corners and such..Hope this helps you out."thumbsup"

Also since it's small, tight area the eadge of a credit card really helps to get out any excess liquid and air bubbles.

Just one more way my credit card gets used on my crawler:roll:

Yes, the soapy water method works very well. The soap stays slippery while you position the sticker, then you squeegee the water out from the center to the edges. As the soapy water squeegee's away, the adhesive takes over and sticks.

I used to use this method to install graphics decals on the sides of gas station canopies. They were single decals up to 10 feet long and 4 feet wide, and the soapy water method worked well for them. I could put up 10'X4' decals perfectly straight w/o a single air bubble...

personally i dont advise using a crdit card as a squegee, it can easily scratch the graphic.
just using balled up tower paper has worked out really well for me

You can get a squeegee made for vinyl work from a local sign shop or some place like Fellers. The are softer than a credit card and have rounded edged.
