RC plane flyers...

its been nearly a decade since ive flown a plank. got big into 3D helis about a year ago but there just to nerv wrecking to fly:shock:

ive got the itch for a brushless 3D park flyer
what are you guys flying?
i cant decide if i want a E-Flite Extra 260 3D 480 ARF or a profile foamie.

Cons: more expensive, less manuverable at almost 0 airspeed

I like flat foamies, because when you crash them its not a real big deal, plus you can find most kits fairly cheap.

my 2 cents

Electric planes have been my main hobby for quite some time. I spent some time flying balsa stuff, but have always come back to foam. I didn't have as much fun with my balsa stuff because I was always worried about crashing them. What it boils down to is this.

If you want to do pattern aerobatics at 50-100' then get the extra. If you want to do 3D aerobatics 15' off the ground then get a foamy. If you want to weave around at low level between the trees or fly in a gym... get a foamy.

Pilot skill is what allows you to fly in the wind. Although lighter planes have a harder time penetrating heavy wind usually the balsa guys quite flying first

You can always come and fly some of my planes. I usually keep at least 7 ready to fly and my back yard is a double football field.

ill look into that EPP, i like the 3 dimensional fuse, looks is important to me. one thing i dont like about the EPP is its price, the same as the e-flite?

i cant seem to find near as many threads and write ups on the EPP as the airfoilz
i also like the smooth finish of the airfoilz so i can do my own graphics, as apposed to the rough foam of the EPP with its crapily stenciled paint jobs.....still doing research on the EPP, i do like it capabilities

You might want to get a new RX for that old Attack. No sense in putting a brick of a RX on that plane.

my flat foamies wern't foam but coroplast. the stuff they make those political signs everyone loves so much, if you look around you can find them, most people will give you them after an election. there uber light weight, strong and cheap"thumbsup"

well shes starting to look like something after 3 nights of work. night before last i couldnt do much, cause i didnt have any kicker , i let the tail section sit for over 18 hours and the CA was still wet as water:x.
that kicker is amazing stuff. still got alot left. i dont even see how i had enough patiance 15 years ago to build those balsa in a box .40 size planes:roll: ill probly have 8-10 building hours total in this one by the time im done.
