RC4wd 2.2 Rock Crushers...First Look

How did you have the foam cut when tested them on the sw3 and are the tires wide enough so I don't have to buy supper narrow baedlocks.

You mentioned how they acted different on your SW2 then your 2.2 Clod.... Did they work better on the SW2 or the Clod? Also what is your total weight of both Rigs? If you don't Mind...:)

I didn't cut the foams at all. My suggestion would be to cut them to give a little more flex. The challenge is the lugs. They are big and close together so when you are trying to climb they will mash together and make one big slick. There has been a lot of suggestions on here like siping that would only add to the scale look and probably help with the grip.

Jarod,
The 2.2 Clod "Pimpcane" ;-) weighs in at 9lbs. The SW3 is 7lbs. The PC, as you know, needs the weight at the wheels. I was lacking a little of that on the first run. The SW3 is a little more forgiving, having a suspension.

I cut my lugs quite a bit and decided I am not sold for a comp tire. Cutting the lugs did help guite a bit. If your looking for more grip for a comp tire I suggest going another route. I now wish i didnt cut my lugs becuase now they will be harder to sell. My buddy who runs losis left me way behind just in my rock garden. Tomorrow at the comp I am going to still try to run them and post a video. Unless someone buys them from me at the comp. I have had several offers already so ill see what happens.

Keep in mind i think for a scale tire these things rock!

Mine will most likely be for sale if anyone is interested in some 2.2 with about 20 min of run time on them. the lugs I cut are only cut half way down so they still look like krawlers they just have a different lug heigth wich makes them bite harder.

Mmmmm....perfect tire for my scaler! Thanks Rckcrwlr aka Dad for the sweet tires!

Some siping/grooving/tread changes may occur. But that will happen after the scaler is finished and I can see what needs to happen with them. Rubber is very flexible and looks to be a good compound. Only issue is when RC4WD scaled down the tread pattern the lugs tend to fold inward towards each other when pushed inwards. That is the nature of the beast, and something I am willing to live with for some very sweet looking tires. "thumbsup" to RC4WD for making these!

Rckcrwlr can you run a normal width rim on the tires?

I've got his tires now, and I don't see why you couldn't as the axials I have pictured are bone stock.

BUT, I would recommend a narrow rim for them. They are a very narrow tire to begin with. As it is, I feel the axial rims are too wide for these tires. I am going to move one of the Krushers to a RC4WD Rockstar narrow beadlock and see how that works.

Here is a lil comparison

Here they are compared to a moab un-mounted

And here that are mounted on a narrow wheel

I am going to give them a try and if they don't work--I will try to make them work :-P
