RECON G6 Challenge "Birthday Bash" Dec. 3, 2011

Check out my video I just made.
I made a little course in my back yard. I thought I'd show you.

Axial SCX-10 10/29/11 - YouTube

Cool vid "thumbsup"
Did a test run at the lake yesterday and shot a little footage, still has to be G6 tested, but so far, so good.

Nice test run. The Blue Bastard was rockin' a morbidly bitchin' tune. I hope the Blue Bastard is ready to for the Birthday Bash. This location was where you got your G6 cherry popped and became the best transmission mechanic in G6 History!

I agree with DRIVNMF and B-rad, nice video and my 4 and 6 year old was asking me what was wrong as I was "jiggn" with the movie....

way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris, The Rig looks awesome, and the video and tunes kick ASS!"thumbsup""thumbsup"

Thanks guys, glad you like it. I really want to make this truck as reliable and bullet-proof as I can, yet still make things "intersting" This truck has come a long way since the first G6...
Anyhoo, got a little package from Germany yesterday, my Felsenfest lockers came in. This should help eliminate a lot of slop in the driveline..

That, along with the beef tubes and a new set of hardened overdrive gears should toughen these up a little bit more.

Plus a plug on the top of the pumpkin, to tighten down the lockers or fill it up with grease.

BEEEEF... :shock::shock: thats cool..

So i have never come close enough to breaking a housing for this to even come to mind... I take it that sleeving the axle tubes does more than just stiffen up the plastic housing??

Less deflection, more weight on the axle, grease containment.... ???

How do you find anything on that work bench :ror: ???

I've gone through about 3 or 4 housings over the last few years- since I put these tubes in--- 0
I really started to burn through the housings when I ran a bigger tire. (4.75 and above) run a set of 2.2's and it gets worse.
Another upside is that it gives something solid to bolt the C-hub into, stiffening everything up.
As far as the workbench, yeah, it's a mess. Like my mind.

Matt I've got a extra set if you need one. I think both Mike See and Chris broke their rear housings the same weekend and I was lucky enough to have a few sets laying around just in case or well in case I was going to do another build

OK Parker and Brad, we going to put in another workout in conjunction with a G6 with these :ror: AX90015 Axial EXO™ - 1/10th Scale Electric 4WD Terra Buggy - Kit No need for gym memberships Recon G6 is what you need to get some of that extra weight off :lmao:

If you cracked open all of our axle's, you'd be suprised to find hidden "Beef" in many of them. They're called Gunnar Beef Toobs and they're just what any axial ax10/scx10 axle needs. The added weight at the axle is also a hidden bonus "thumbsup" And if you are crafty, you can make your own that accept XR10 knuckles, chubs, and uni's.
Felsenfest is the way to go for lockers too. I am still running my original pair pulled from my ancient 2.2 shafty comp rig. They last forever
