Regular or Electric Razor?

I ask because I've been using electric razors since I started shaving. My current one broke this morning and needed to shave so I grabbed one of my dads regular razors and got the job done... I just don't like them.

So I'm looking for a new electric, anyone have a model to recommend?

I have this nice one that my wife bought me, its a Remington Titanium. I hate the damn thing, I hate all electric razors, they tear the shit out of my face and leave my skin all burn feeling and dry. I prefer a barbor style straight edge, but a good one is damn near impossible to find. My old one that I used for over 10 years got a nick in the blade and is too far gone to use anymore. So for now, I stick with the Mach 3, as it cleans out easy and give the best shave out of all I have tried.

However, my son uses the Remington and he loves it, it does do a damn nice job at shaving and leaving you smooth, but my skin is just too sensitive for electrics.

I usually have a 5 o'clock shadow before I finish my oatmeal in the morning so I usually use an electric for ease. I usually have to hit it with the electric clippers first though  I think they all suck ass though, had all of them from the $250 to the $25. They all suck equally.

If I want to actually look nice and get a good shave then I use a single blade razor.

Haven't used a regular razor in years to be honest. I normally let my hair beard grow for 2-4 months with occasional trimmings on the bear then cut it back that to nothing then let it grow back all over again. One thing I have found though is that for me the longer I wait the harder it can be for a battery powered electric to do the job, usually requiring me to make sure it's plugged in the night before I intend to use it because it sucks having the damn things go dead mid trim! When I do shave, I actually prefer a regular plug in time trimmer for that reason since it's pulling the juice straight from a consistant 110v AC outlet instead of a small 1.5v battery that may be a Ni-CD with memory issues.

BRAUN

you need to buy a quality foil. Anything with 3 circles is absolute crap and will eat your face. I have a beard now but before i would shave almost daily with my braun and then touch up my neck quickly with a razor. My face was smooooth and had no irritation whatsoever. The new pulsonic is supposed to be incredible. I have an older one (ran me about $150) and it still works great.

Yep, good company, I have a Cruzer 3 and it works great, I also have a Mach 3 that I use occasionally.

Ive never liked elect's. I feel they don't really do a good job at all & I've had many as well. Its not so much the sensitivity but just the fact that they don't get as close as a straight-edge or reg. blade.

Plus I have goatee and it's just easier to get up close. I'd have to shave twice if I used a elect.

I use a Braun Series One. It was the least expensive name brand they had at the store, about $40. It's rechargeable and has a single foil and a slide out trimmer. It gets pretty close without irritating my skin at all, but if I really want to be smooth, I'll finish up with a blade (Gillette Mach 3). I also have a Remington Titanium beard and moustache trimmer for touch-ups and trimming up close.

I just about always have a beard or goatee and find it hard to trim around the edges with an electric razor. I use some cheap Bic disposables. 3 blades with lubricating stip on them. 6 cost about 5 bucks at Wally World.

I use a Braun Electric. I forget the exact model but it's one that clean's it self. Just have to spend about $10 on cleaning cartidges every two months or so.

All the 3 circle stuff is crap IMO, they all pull the hair too hard for me.

It doesn't shave as close as a blade, but the lack of razor burn, razor bumps, etc. is worth it. "thumbsup"

I sue just those POS ones that are like 50 in a bag, work fine for me."thumbsup"

I use a 4 blade last maybe 10 days is pushing it nice clean shave i did not get from the electric

I use a Gillette mach 3.

Electric razors they just don't get the job done.

same here and i shave my head too, the elc just does not get close enough i would have to shave twice a day if i used one. with the Mach 3, i can shave my head every other day.

I use the first gen Gillette sensor. I have tried the mach 3 and the tracer etc. etc. but the OG sensor does the best for me. I have a really nice electric but hate the thing.

I have both...but use mostly a manual. Only time I use the electric is when I use the flip up "sideburn trimmer" to do a rough cut if it's been a while since I've shaved. Cutting long hairs with a manual doesn't feel or work the best. :)

Mach 3 once a week. I'm lazy, and I like the crackhead to cleancut transition. Keeps people guessing.

Tried electrics, hated them all. Chewed me up and still had to touch up with a regular razor.
