"ROCTAPUS"

hey, saw the savage shocks and they look pretty nice on there. ive heard some people say they didnt like the savage shocks for a few different reasons, one being that they leak, do you know why this is? and would you recomend savage shocks on other crawlers?

Stock Savage shocks leak a lot from what I've read, mine are made by Hot Bodies for the Savage. I use teflon tape on the caps, they leak a little but it's not bad.

I'd recommend them if you like to play around with suspension set-ups. It took me a little while to dial this chassis in. The key to running looooong shocks is mount the upper mounts as high as you can on the chassis. IMO.

as hacked up as the bodys are getting do you suppose we could get body manufactures to make partial bodys .................less lexan= less $$$$$$

Just a thought!

Keep your eyes peeled and watching the Proline website over the next few months. We should see some crawler based bodies...just for us!!!!

I decided to try setting up my front steer behind the axle. I gave it a test run today, definitely alot better approach angle. I need to tweak the tie rods a little, but all in all I'm happy so far.

Some pics....

Thanks for the compliment wally187.

If I had a digital camera I would, and pretty much all the pics I have are posted in that thread. I'll borrow my buddies camera and try to post some up shortly.

I'm going to merge this into my thread, since it's a question about my rig.

bender,
yeah i guess that is what i should have done, posted in this thread. it's late, sorry. if you could get some more detailed pics of it, that would be great. thanks...

No complaints at all, my approach angle it so much better now. Once in a while it hangs up while I'm in reverse, but it's not to bad.

Hey man, back on the first page I see you have Proline Giant Tracs.
Are those mounted on RPM StableMaxx wheels, or some Clod variant?
It'd be great if they were squeezed on Maxx wheels, it'd keep me from buying more wheels.

And what page is the behind the axle steering posted? So many pages...

The tires in the begining are GT's on StableMaxx rims, I machined custom adapters to bolt them up. They work great on these rims and there is no need to narrow the rims.

Behind the axle steering is about 1/2 way down this page. I'm working on better pics.

Not to sound like a redundant idiot, or more of one, but you fit Clod sized tires, on StableMaxx wheels?
