Rovereams, a simple pin tire method

what other options are there out there in this size tire? links?
what about 1/8 buggy tires, are they as tall? they would be narrower.

If you go to tower hobbies and look up truggy tires, there are alot of them to pick from. Tower has really good notes describing their products.

which feel softer the rovers, or the aka soft compound? i was thinking of buying the super softs

lol nova, your always one step ahead! kick ass ;) price with no foams?

The red Hot Bodies compound feels softer. It feels softer than the Losi boss claw in their red compound. The HB Khaos is taller than the boss claw. The HB Khaos truggy tire is $19.95 a pair through Crawler Innovations and they come with no foams. You would still need to glue in your sidewall of choice.

I think the SCT Jconcepts Goosebump tires would make a nice tread for really slick surfaces, the compound is super tacky, they sure don't last long on a SCT.

P.s. Nova is a tire Wizard! He makes some awesome looking sneaks, I will hopefully be ordering some Robra's soon.

Here is a Khaos truggy tire with a Rover sidewall:

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while.
Thanks for chiming in and answering his question about tire compounds Eddie. Your foam options, all of the different tuning rings, really make tuning fun.
I made 3 changes before I broke my rig, each one helped.
Basically, I started with all of the tuning rings instaled, the inner, the outer, and 1 side tuner per tire. Big fat tires kinda sucked.
Took out the side ring, sucked less.
Took out the inner firm tuning ring, tire started to get grippy. They like soft foam for sure. Then "dink", pin snapped and done.
My next goal is to narrow these tires. They are just waay too wide. I'll run them with the current foam setup afterwards and adjust from there.

After I broke the axle pin, I got stuck trying to figure out a draglink solution for a BTA on my Worminator frontend. Then I got sidetracked building my BJV3 Losi Eritex HH dual 14T Puller MOA MMP 4s rig:mrgreen: , and swapping a buddy's AX10 parts into an old LCC chassis I had laying around... Both of these are pretty much done now, I hope to be abe to put some time into these tires in the next couple days.

Sorry for the thread Jack... But this is my take on a set of pin tires. I wanted to try them and not spend alot on boss claws or custom tires so I made my own. They are proline 40 series monster truck bowties soft compound narrowed with axial lizard sidewalls. (before questions begin on tire and sidewall choice, keep in mind I had both sets of tires just sitting not being used, and I only have the cost of glue into making these.)
sorry in advance for the crap pics this was all done on my iPhone. Laptop is with the geeksquad right now.:(

total cost to make $4.87
they worked fairly well. The losi's I was runnin with were both using boss claws and there was only a few lines those could make that mine couldn't.

Nice job narrowing them. How much did you take out?
Did you lay the lizards into the bead of the pin tire or cut both and glue them?looks like you glued it into the bead like mine?

Ya I layed the sidewall in the bead like u did.
Let's see I cut one inch off each side of the tire and glued that together. So the section I cut out of the middle is 1 1/2" they were a 3 1/2 wide tire
