I have a Tekin RX8 gen 1 and a ROC 412 3100kv. The motor is brand new. The ESC has not been used in over a year. Well I thought I would update the software before I installed the speed control and it took it. I wired it up. I have reprogramed the speed control at least 10 times with the new firmware and the older firmware.

I can't get the speed control to calibrate. None of the light turn on on the ESC. If I plug in my castle speed and old motor it works fine.

If I turn on the speed control with it not plugged into the receiver it will chime and light up the light.

If I plug it into the receiver and turn it on- no light on the receiver no lights.

I have double checked the wires on the speed control and motor. Unplugged the sensor wires-unplugged the fan-unplugged the servo-

I have read so many posts my eyes hurt.

The problem was the internal BEC was bad. I installed a new BEC and fix it. The old servo must have shorted out the internal BEC.

Internal bec tends not to like any servo pulling good amount of amps. This is typical of high tq/ high amps being pulled from internal bec. This is why external bec should be used every time on a crawler. Just a fyi....... on all of my race rigs I use external bec just in the event there may end up with the same issue.

Well I dove it a couple of times and the ESC stopped working again. This time when I plug it in the servo works, but no beeps from the ESC and no light. I double checked the wires at the speed control and the motor. They are good. I guess I need to send the RX8 in for repairs.

When it was working it sure was fun!
