I like that I can program the ESC with my phone but do I have to unplug the ESC wire from the RX or can I put in a "Y" wire so that I don't have to open the sealed RX tomb every time I want to change something? I would like to leave the "pigtail" accessible outside of the box.

Is this the Gen1 or Gen2 RX8?? The Gen2 uses the fan port to connect to the Hot Wire and according to Tekin you cannot use a Y-harness. Not sure if the Gen1 using the receiver plug is the same, but I would think no as well on the Gen1 Y-harness since you would be powering the receiver and the Hot Wire at the same time from you computer.

You could contact Tekin and see what they say.

It's the Gen 2 and I have been unplugging it from the RX and that wire plugs into the 3 pin connector on the Hot Wire. The 3 pin wire on the Hot Wire can not plug into the fan port. male pins on the fan and male pins on the Hot Wire. Did it come with an adaptor cable? I may have misplaced it. Obviously if it is meant to plug into the fan port my original question is rather stupid.
