Wait till you install the headers and see that the 305 has a different bolt pattern on the #'s 7 & 8 exhaust ports then any other small block Chevy. They are spread out more on the front side of the ports. You will either have to drill new holds or get a rotten exhaust leak thats impossible to seal off. Also, get yourself some heat reap for the passenger side header or it will cook your starter and trust me, you dont wanna have to change the starter once you have the headers in the way. Ive built and run over 20 G-Bodies in every model GM ever produced. My latest is a 86 Buick Regal Grand National Clone with a 383 stroker that turns 11.38's all day through the pipes and on BFG Drag Radials.
Red is 5.0 305 bolt pattern, Green is every other SBC

You bet. I have lots of experiance with the G's. Need any help or advice, LMK.Aw! I guess you are right, I only checked the drivers header.
I'm thinking I can just take the stock manifold and bolt it to the header and use the hole from the stock manifold as a pilot.
Thanks for the heads up on the wrap and the bolt!
Nice progress so far, but purple hornies glasspacks? ewww, is it legal in your state not have the exhaust exiting from the body of the car from the rear wheels back?
you dont need that much exhaust.till you get a bigger cam or motor.remember back pressure is your friend.to save brain cells. have the exhaust exit after the rear wheels.under the car is very bad.blood gas level test are not fun.I really don't have the money to get a real exhaust system right now, the Purple Hornies will work fine for right now.
My plans for the future are
Mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust
X-pipe
flowmaster 40's
Electric cut outs.
GN stainless exits
When I get that exhaust I'll be running a 383.you dont need that much exhaust.till you get a bigger cam or motor.remember back pressure is your friend.to save brain cells. have the exhaust exit after the rear wheels.under the car is very bad.blood gas level test are not fun.
