Shock oil

I have never really been all that adventurous when it came to shock oil. Are you guys happy with the 30wt in front and the 10wt in the rear ? I need to soak up about $5 to get free shipping so really if I buy some more oil it will be a wash. How many ml per shock does this thing take for the kit. Thanks

I ran mine today for the first time with the 30/10 oils. I am going to go stiffer on both front and rear. Probably something like 40/30. I'm thinking I would like some slightly stiffer springs too.

While this setup is probably great for doing more of a rock racing thing, for any kind of speed its really soft and rolls way too much for my liking with the stock oils and springs.

I'll try oils first before I buy any springs.

I´m happy with 30 in the front, but for where I bash 10wt is too light in the rear. At speed (say 30-40mph) down a dirt road the front stays planted nicely but the rear will bottom and kick up so high it causes and endo and subsequent chest-high cartwheel. Having this thing cartwheel past you chest-high at 40 mph is not exactly optimal. Granted, I was driving like an a**hole.

Before the LST shocks I had Losi 32.5 front and 27.5 back and it was still bouncy out back. Now with the LST shocks I have 40 front and 30 back and its a great bash set up.

What would be a good set up for high speed dirt/gravel roads and possibly some at the track. I never messed with shock oils on my last and really new to the hole shock oil and spring thing.

Agree. Switching over to the LST shocks was a great choice. I'm running the same weights too and have been playing with the different spring options. Outside of my 1/5 scale gas trucks, my Yeti is my favorite truck to bash now!

If you are thinking about even casual laps on a track then alot stiffer oil and springs would be required in my opinion. But that's not what this car was intended for so it will probably never really impress you there.

I am researching springs that are available for this thing. I really think the 2 stage kit spring thing seems like a gimick and really isn't offering any benefit I will probably go to a rtr style single spring setup. Thrdual stage look neat but the top short spring coils are completely collapsed just sitting on the bench.

So I guess ill order some 50 wt for the front and use the 30 in the rear. How much oil will I need for these shocks? about 30ml (60ml per pair) I would guess?

Hey guys, so im all new to this rc car stuff so im sorry if i ask a question thats already been posted.

We have got the kit yeti xl and we have all new aluminum parts for it, with a momba x esc and sensored 1515 2200kv.

We are looking for something that will make the car steer well around the corners and not be so flotable.
