You may be familiar with Carver's MOA Losi build. Lucky for me he decided to let her go. Seconds are better than none! "thumbsup"

So I recieved "her" back as a shafty. I pretty much added a JR8711 and my R603FF. Mounted some white HB Rovers and hit the rocks!

My first run was at a locall comp. Not only was it my first run w/ the Losi, but also my first 2.2 comp. I've been running 1.9 comp's for the past year and decided to step up.

The rig is working great. Had a hicup at first. The Xcelorin Esc decided to bite the dust. So a call to Horizon Hobby, a smaller number in the checking account and a few days later I was back. No sweat.

First thing I did was lower the front servo. Not that big of a job. Quick pic

Turned out great. Would highly recommend, just cause it's to easy "thumbsup"

Next on the list was to clean everything up a bit and try to mount everything nice and low. The dig servo mount was already made by the man himself, Carver. "thumbsup" Not taking any credit there.

The wiring turned out pretty nice. I mounted all the electronics up front. The Esc actually was only a few grams lighter than my MA 3s 1100. That combined w/ the Rx, Bec and mounting tray, out weighed the battery by almost 1.5oz. I shorted all the leads by installing new connectors. I opened up the Bec and removed the flat plate inside to gain some room. Also on all my Bec's I use a mini deans connector. I can't stand them hard wired.

Everything is nice and low. Nothing mounted higher than the trans!

could you give some more detail on that servo mount mod Thanks "thumbsup"

No problem. You can see in the back ground what the stock mount looks like w/ the studs. Simply cut the studs off and sand flush. Next, I used a dremel w/ a round sanding attachment and went to work! Took maybe 30 sec's. This "cup" made into the mount allows it to sit flush on the axle.

As soon as I recieve my DH's and SLW's I going to give her a good beating. I plan on running three bullet weights up front and maybe 2oz added to the rear. I also grooved the hell out of the comp claws. I'm hoping the extra siping helps of camber situations and I know the center luggs being removed helps forward bite

Looks good Sneed. I'd hit it "thumbsup"

I like Green Slime for my Losi shocks.

Green Slime

Its an Associated product.
"Team Associated's shock Green Slime grease. Designed to work with shock o-rings for that better seal."

I think it was a Jammin Jay Halsey product that Associated aquired, I'm pretty sure my tub came in Jammin packaging, mind you that was a looong time ago (when Hydra Drive was the must have thing for your buggy!).

I had a comp last saturday. Rig is working great, driver....um yeah questionable. They were several difficult climbs that the Losi really shinned well on. Comp Claws sipped are doing work.

Oh, I weighed the rig. 5.62lbs RTR

Sneed, Where are you dangling the cap on your rig, I do not see it...

Thanks
Ryan

I told you the wiring came out pretty clean. :lmao: If you look close at the blury cell pic's above, look at the motor wire's. There's a small black zip tie, it's fastened under the wire's. Maybe I can get a better pic from that side of the rig. Whenever I mounted the electric's, I made sure to leave room for the cap to fit nicely between the Rx and BEC

Wow... a really lame thread. Anyways, alot has changed in the past few months. I've switch electronics. Went from the Xcelorin to Tekin RS Pro. Still rocking a 21.5t w/ 15t pinion. I'd like more wheel speed...but It'll probably get me into trouble. Also I upgraded to the MaxAmps 3s 2000mah's, all I can say is wow! Very nice .

Added some Boss Claws, more weight in the wheels and Lungsford Ti links. Went back and forth w/ different servo mounts/locations. And I've learned it doesn't make a difference to me. I've used a HS-85MG to a HS-225BB. I'm liking the mini sized servo's better. The micro's work well, but I don't think they're cut for the longevity. Enough BS..pic's!
