Got a set of these the other day, and they sure work!

On sections where my OG Slingers struggled, the new ones walk right up. They feel much softer, and deflect noticeably under the weight of my rig, unlike the originals. The compound is much stickier, too. I made a little video to demonstrate:

Here's a short vid comparing the softy Slingers to the Losi Rock Claws, on a plywood ramp.

I used plywood because it's a nice, uniform, low-traction surface, and it's easy to duplicate any time I like, indoors where it's nice and warm (and dry). While it's not exactly a realistic crawling surface, it does give a good indication of how much grip from the compound a tire will offer.

Note that the Claws are at a disadvantage on this surface because of their open tread design. They put very little rubber down and suffered because of it. However, they equalled the performance of the narrowed M2K's.

M2k's and Losi's made it up a 33 degree slope
The OG slingers only did 31 degrees.

Softy Slingers hit 41 degrees with no wheelspin. I'd say the new compound works "thumbsup"

I am not saying the new Slingers are better than Losi's! They just work better on the ramp, which as I've indicated twice is not rocks or even any kind of mineral. Real-world performance will be different, your mileage may vary. This merely indicates how the new compound works.

And I just got a package with soft Stompers.

How are you running the foams? I'm betaing the rock stompers and I'm thinking of starting them full and the cutting them as I see fit.

Full foams, one beadlock screw removed for ventilation.

The test surface is furniture-grade particle board.

Here's the next test subject: soft Stompers

Initial impressions are good. They feel softer than OG Stompers with no foams (even heavily siped) and my hands are all sticky from handling them. Gotta mount up three more before I can test 'em...

BD never gets tired of being mounted....

The sticky Stompers made it up the 41 degree ramp as well. They'll do 45 with a lot of wheelspin, and will sit on 41.

Nice, I think I will order a set of the stompers, mainly for height and looks since now the compound is nice. Thanks for the review and funny antics BD and Mg

But were the Losi's tested fresh out of the package or used???You should run them all in the dirt a little bit then test them again...This would be a significant advantage over used tires...

Just my .02 Stu"thumbsup"

And if you did sorry im an asshole...

You're an asshole.

The Losi's are about 6 months old, Slingers and Stompers are right out of the box, but both were run outdoors before I tested them. I can't guarantee that the same amount and chemical composition of dirt is on all the tires, but none of them were cleaned.

In the interest of science, I ran some brand-new and clean (regular) Rock Lizards up the ramp: 30 degrees, and the breakaway was much more sudden than any of the other tires. When they let go, they really let go.

I would say its fair. My losi claws worked better when they were a couple months old compared to them new. The RS and MS may go the same way, get better as they wear. Thanks for doing the review. Wanted to get the Stompers but was unsure about the performance. Feel good about it now."thumbsup"
