Split Rock

Anyone ever been out there, we drove past it on our way to Montana and it looked to be the biggest best crawling spot I have ever seen!!

287 north of Muddy Gap headin toward Jeffrey City. Nice little rest area there.
I have evey intention of stoppin the next time I go up to the cabin above Dubois or up to see family in Riverton.
It is usually real windy there though, so bring some ear plugs or you'll get a headache and earache's from havin your ears pressurized from it.

What about Independence Rock? Anyone ever crawled there?
It looks promising.
If you could get over to the rocks near Devils Gate THAT looks like a good spot.
When the bureau of reclamation redid the needle valves at Pathfinder they hauled all the blasted granite rock about a mile north of the dam. I've hauled rock out of there before but think it would be a great place to crawl. A little off the beaten path however.
A guy could spend a few years just travelin around playin on the rocks in Wyoming!
I've only found a couple of places near Casper that are accesible. One is at Jonah Bank along the North Platte just East of Poplar street. Another is an area just across Wyo. Blvd. from Verda James Elementary. Another place that looks good is across from the Dairy Queen on Poplar although I don't think they would appreciate me playing in their landscaped stream. :ror:

Heading towards Jeffery city it's green mountain, if it's towards casper the rest area is at independance rock, national landmark for the oregon trail, just before that is devil's gate. lots of promising places out there.

next time you are in riverton jump over to lander and head up sinks canyon, bring lots of batteries the overflow channel from the sinks is awsome and usually empty of water.

Last time I was up on Casper Mountain crawlin around I ran across a den of some sort. I scooted out of there real quick like!!!

Mountain Lions = Scary

Black Bears = Really Scary

Grizzly Bears = Really Really Scary

but you are pretty safe at most crawler spots (unless you go crawling with bigfoot)

just watch out for free ranging wookalars.

yeah it would, but the fact it is 50 miles from everywhere makes it kinda a pain, the casper guys would have the best chances.

Not all of it. The backside is wide open. Only the front where the emigrants signed their names is fenced off. Don't think a crawler can make it up vertical stone anyway. At least mine can't. :lol:
