Nice build thread Shane"thumbsup". I'm very surprised to see you try something new after how well your berg was already running:shock:. What are you gonna do with your old SS chassis? After seeing your truck the last time you were here, I had been contemplating rebuilding my berg with a SS chassis and rebuilding the XR10 with the Secret Agent. I'm very curious to get your thoughts on the new build once you've completed it.
I couldnt keep the RcBro's locker screws to stay tight.
Looking really good Shane...been looking forward to seeing those new foams since you let me squeeze em at Turkey Crawl "thumbsup"
Putting my Berg back together today I found three loose screws and one hole that was stripped out on my front RcBro locker. Rear is all tight. I put the stockers back in as well. If I would not have read your thread today I can't say that I would have even checked them. That is one set of screws that you should only have to assemble once. Thanks for the heads up.
Missed your post in between postings. Helhedded said he heard a weird noise the first time it happened last summer. Tore the axles apart the next day, after 3 courses, both lockers were loose. I swapped out the silver 3mm screws and put in some black 3mm screws. Different grades. Cleaned all the threads before install and loc tighted back in. Loose one comp later, 3 courses. I would have to tear the truck apart after every comp. I think it's the soft aluminum threads on the locker itself.
That is funny....I rebuilt my berg axles earlier this week and noticed the exact same thing. All of the screws were loose....not bad, but at least half a turn with the wrench. I loctited the shit out of them and put them back in. Now, this is probably the first time I have checked them in probably 9 months so not bad, but I was shocked to see both of them had every screw loose...Putting my Berg back together today I found three loose screws and one hole that was stripped out on my front RcBro locker. For what it's worth I have had great luck with those lockers ever since they first loosened up on me. I just made sure that those lockers had no dirt or grease in them when they were rebuilt. I used some high pressure auto brake cleaner. After that I blew them out with compressed air and reinstalled the bolts with a nice amount of blue loctite. I then let it dry overnight. I think it's very important that your axle grease doesn't come into contact with the wet loctite.

Bias is looking good so far, definitely do a gearbox mount for the lipo, that will help a lot as well. My berg actually used to work better with the bigger 850 packs mounted there than when I ran smaller packs. You could easily drill and tap the case for a homemade plate, or of course guys like Rowdy, Dlux, and Big Ron have bolt on options. "thumbsup"
I am still deciding on battery placement. If I put the battery on a gearbox mount then the electronics will have to go in the chassis. I could put the battery on the front axle, opposite the servo but I'll need to check clearances. And then put the electronics on the case plate.
The second option is what I want to do but I'll have to lay the battery on the axle and see how it looks.
I am going to cut the rear extended skid portion of the chassis off and might bend that up for a axle mount.
And doing all of this, ill have to bend my uppers slightly, I am assuming but I can put Jato's on there and then trim down to fit the new bend lengths.
it will be hard to place the battery on the axle
but esc and bec on the axle , rec. above the front motor and battery right behind the motor should work great:mrgreen:
He got a skid on his back it's tards.Isn't your skid plate on backwards?

I was just thinking the same thing, I think we just found the secret.
