++ T1E Moonbuggy "Sporty" ++

You defiantly need to sit down and rap that creative mind of yours around your Fastback. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I never said I was going to do anything, just that I was going to sit down and think about it. :ror:

Your build did inspire me to unclutter the front axle on mine though. That's about as far as I'm going to get.

Well Dudester, if you have any strokes of brilliance that you don't want to try let me know and I'll try them for you. "thumbsup"

Looking good, I gotta get mine posted up.

Did you always run that much belly clearance when you ran it in pro?

Yeah Erin, that's exactly the same ride height I used last year in Pro, when I first did that set it up I thought this isn't going to work, but to my surprise it still side hills like a bandit and it's awesome on climbs ledges and break overs. Go figure?

Re: ++ 2012 T1E Moonbuggy "Sporty" ++

I'm pretty sure I'm a good bit lower. Still breakovers great, I even miss alot of the pivots the belly draggers hit sometimes lol

You got me thinking now, I might drop it a little. Rockshow originally designed this chassis to run 3 1/2" shocks. We all seem to do the shock mod so we're closer to 4". I'm going to throw a set of 3 1/2" Big Bores on for grins and giggles. I love the shock angle FT and RR, the springs are good so my only option is the shocks.

Erin you don't have a side shot handy do you?

I swear to god if you lower your car my head will explode. Don't go and remove my goal! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I recently posted a thread on my tester set of Erik Dlux's new super light weight wheels.

I also added a nice little spacer made by CDW Crawler Deign Works.

And the lightest 2.2 wheel available. One ounce of weight reduction from my VP SLWs.

When I pulled the VP dig out of this truck to meet the Sportsman rules I didn't notice until I had nearly finished the build that the rear drive shaft had intruded into that nice space in front of the rear wheels.

Before.

Well Eddie at Crawler Innovations had just the right part. "thumbsup"

C.I. 4340 Steel- Axial Trans Outputs for Maxx Shafts. Which are available in sets or as individuals long or short. They where designed to get the universal of the Maxx shaft out front of the spur gear.

I was going to use it to get my rear tranny out put closer to my rear axle and increase my drive shaft angle without adding a lot of axle angle, I would have created a negative upper link situation. On this rig it's got lots of Gatekeeper II geometry that I just couldn't give up.

ShocksDriveshaftswithOutput018.jpg

If you haven't tried Gear Science's Gel Lube it very different. It's sticks to anything and won't let go. So the main gear got lubed up.

You should give me your SLW's.:ror: I love the idea of Erik's new wheel. My concern is we wheel in a bit of water some times. When I say a bit, that's like saying submarines run in puddles.

Sorry about that.

The grease is like Spiderman's web shooter stuff.

I've run the Pede shafts for years without issues and love the size so Eddies shaft had reduction surgery so the Pede steel universals would fit.

ShocksDriveshaftswithOutput026.jpg

Just to demonstrate the size difference I took this shot of Pede and Maxx side by side.

ShocksDriveshaftswithOutput028.jpg

Installed it solved the problem nicely. "thumbsup"

And a couple of on-board shots.
