yesterday i was given a 40 year old tamiya sherman tank. it still runs. just thought i'd share, if anyone knows anything about these things i'd love to know more about it. here are a couple crappy cell phone pics, i'll put some better pictures up later. "thumbsup"



 
That looks like a pretty cool RC tank. Post up pics of the drive train and suspension, I'm curious to see how Tamiya did things 40 years ago. "thumbsup"
 
the drive train is pretty interesting. there is a lever that when moved in a certain direction operates a clutch for a certain track, when the lever is in the center both tracks have power. there is also no speed control. a servo operated lever hits a micro switch .giving power to it. it is either off, forward or reverse. one speed(slow) take a look at this super dark and crappy cell phone video lol and you'll be able to see how it operates. im curious as to how id add power to a reciver and servos while still having power go directly to the micro switches.

the suspension is simply 2 control arms that have a few shocks coneecting themselves together.
