Testosterone

Lost any cred with me when they started out by throwing emasculation by feminists as a cause of low-t.

Eat clean, live clean, work out = healthy.... either way north of 40 (male or female) hormones start to drop.

looking though the rest of the site there is a fair bit of Red Pill vibe to most of it. (https://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/)

GMAFB!!!!

Fat releases estrogen. Estrogen trumps testosterone.

More fat=lest testosterone...ever seen a hairy obese person?

Testosterone levels are inversely related to BMI.

Our society is fatter than it used to be, not more feminized.

Fat and hairy guy right here. Balding since my 20s, but the rest of me is like a rug.

As any guy ages testosterone drops. That's why as a teen you have all kinds of energy and can eat anything and try and screw anything that will allow it. 20's little less energy. 30's even less and not eating as much and weight is harder to keep off. North of 40 even harder to drop wieght and stamina starts droping.

BMI is BS. I know guys at 6% body fat that are considered obese going purely by BMI charts.

Not really on topic but I felt old the other week. Bought myself a pushbike and haven't ridden
since I was a kid. Tried to to a wheelie and nearly died.

We used to pop onto the back wheel and just ride, I lifted the front wheel up for about a tenth of a second and nearly crashed
to my death.

I'm not even 30 yet and my body is wrecked. and i'm becoming more blind and possibly getting more stupid.

^^lol...

Another thing that has changed is pesticides. A lot of pesticides have an estrogenic effect on humans. There are some places with contaminated water supplies, where the women are bustier, stronger, and generally better, and the men are less aggressive and generally smaller. The environment has changed vastly since the 1940's, even, and it's not surprising that there are effects on people because of it.

I recently cut back on my soda, and I've been steadily losing weight since. I also kicked the daily cheese and started eating more fruit. I feel better, my stomach is happier, and generally, I'm doing better than I was before. I did kick up my exercise as well. I don't think I'll go back to how I was before, munching cheese and chugging soda.

Going purely by BMI is BS...which is why a panel of clinical factors are taken into account when using it as a diagnostic indicator. Every clinical trial for weight loss enrolled by the FDA uses BMI as a selection criteria.

Informative lay links below on testosterone and obesity. Papers are cited within should you want to dig deeper. Hit PubMed if you want primary data.

I read the first sentence and could tell right off that this was going to be wrong. Then I saw the last sentence and I was done.

first
It is an easily observable fact that today’s Men have less testosterone than their fathers and even less testosterone than their Grandfathers.

last
Ignore the media

It's way too easy to write up a BS blog and disguise it as factual information these days.

If the kids weren't playing on facetube or whatever it is with their gadgets, and actually fixed things and did manly shit
they might be better off.

they are just now starting to pay more attention to low-t in men. Now that med companies see there is a market for it, there will be all kinds of studies now.

All I was saying is that not everyone who is fat automatically has low-t, and not everyone that is thin has proper levels. Many factors come into play not just BMI.

I have a couple coworkers (healthy marathon runners, mid 40's) that are fighting insurance over low-t treatments. Insurance is calling it fertility treatment and blocking it because in their mindset men don't need hormone therapy. Women on the other hand get hormone therapy with little to no fight unless it is know to be solely for fertility treatments.

Me, currently 6'1" 300, BMI of 39. No issues with low-t, not even close. My doctor seemed annoyed that I didn't have issues that normally come with being overweight. No low-t or high cholesterol, not diabetic, but I eat relatively clean. I haven't drank soda in over a year. I just set at a dam desk 9 hours a day and in car for 2.... working on that...

Just saying there is more to it that just being fat.

That's entirely possible. I brought up the only "cause" that has some scientific backing outside of internet crap, and that is prevalent enough to impact populations on an acute time scale (ie we're just noticing it). Is this due to increased incidence or reporting? Maybe some of both. I bet lifestyle (diet and excercise) play a role even if we are unsure of the role yet. I agree, low T likely has many unknown sources but I bet the low T bell curve centers on the high range of the BMI bell curve. There are always outliers.

As you get older, your testosterone levels are SUPPOSED to drop. Testosterone is an androgen that helps the tissue in the prostate (among other glands) to grow. When the prostate grows uncontrolled is when you will experience the symptoms associated with prostate cancer. The prostate gland will swell, constricting the urethra making it difficult to piss. In fact, one of the therapies for prostate cancer is Androgen Deprivation Therapy (Hormone Injections).

Stay away from these Testosterone Replacement therapies that are all the rage these days. At the very least, consult your physician before starting one and ask questions about the long term effects.
