So my dad passed away march 31st and his best buddy Coco a chocolate lab has not been the same. Those who have family member pets understand how smart these animals are and how they feel a loss like we do.

She has been in poor health for the last year but has been getting by but progressively getting worse since my dad's passing. She has been suffering from stones and hip problems and it just killed me because whenever I came over she acted to me like she did with my dad and ears always perked up.

My mom called me monday in tears and said Coco has not moved the whole day and the time has come.

Me and my mom took her in and said our good byes and sat with her till she was gone--why is this stuff so hard and just tears me up..

She is now with my dad again.....

I'm really sorry to hear that. We treat our animals like family members too and it's really hard to lose one. I know it doesn't make it any better but when it's time it's the right thing to do. At least now they are back together and can play all day.

Damn, that sucks.

When my Mom passed, I took her dog(was my Dad's dog before he passed away) in. She was indeed not the same for several weeks after both my Dad passed and again when my Mom passed. She would just lie by my Mom's chair and whine.

sorry for your losses:cry:, its a bummer, this stuff is never easy..pets are family .. i,d like to think they are together again

Thanks guys--I know some of you have been in similar situations and fully understand.

The hardest part is my mom.....
