The Styrene Challenge #2 - Flat bottom boat

Well from what I read, the 10ft Jon Boats are only rated for 3hp, but I figured what's an extra half a horse lol. I think it all turned out pretty well for winging it lol.

Very well indeed! I spent hours making one based on all the pictures I could find and it didn't come out that nice. I think scale wise mine is about 20hp:roll:

You could ski behind that flat bottom then lol.

Jbailey - nice job! Love the motor and accessories! "thumbsup"

Still have a ton of work to do on it, and figure out the paint scheme yet...good thing I have until the 12th to finish!

Here we go again.... I'm not a boat guy but that's not the point here, just want to work on techniques. My toolbox just didn't look good in black so lesson learned.

Started my flat bottom, onto the pics...

That's it for today. Plan has a single seat in rear, electric trolling motor, battery and coolers for fish and beer. No plans, no sketch, just my minds eye and a body for scale sizing.

Looks good so far. Your oars came out better then mine!

Ok, so with all this free time this weekend and between home projects I made some more progress.

These will be last pics before filler and paint...

Got the troller figured out and the batteries done. Thanks for looking.

humidity levels are ridiculous right now (100% when I got up this morning - and no, it is not raining!) - not good for painting - and that is where I am at right now...ready for paint. Supposed to be lower humidity tomorrow (keeping fingers crossed)

Ditto. I tried to paint and it ran like dairy through a newborn.
