I am excited to present to you, the 3rd Styrene Challenge, courtesy of Challenge #2 runner-up - heartless "thumbsup"

"Tools"

This challenge will be unique in that entrants must make between 3-5 items, or tools. No need to post 5 build pics for each tool though, just 5 overall build pics will do, but as always, the more the better.

As always, be creative, try new things, keep it simple or go all out, but most importantly, have fun!

To enter, simply follow the rules below. No need to post up "Im in", as at the end of the 2 week period I will simply verify who all met the rules and enter them into the voting poll.

Rules:

- Contest is open to all RCCRAWLER members.
- No wood or metal is allowed, only styrene. Of course, glues, putty/filler and paint are allowed.
- Entrants must post at least 5 build pics along with the final piece(s) (total of 6 pictures, all of which can be placed in a single post or throughout the two week build)
- Final piece(s) must be painted - painting skills will not be a factor in the voting process.
- Must be a new build (piece cannot have already been made and posted elsewhere)
- Although not mandatory, feel free to offer your own tips and tricks during your build or at any time really.
- Must be as close to 1:10 scale as possible.

**Must have your entry posted by August 2nd @ 8 pm CDT**

Good Luck Everyone!

just to add to "creative thinking" process - this category covers anything from shop tools to tools you would carry in your rig...

Thinking caps on! Get building! "thumbsup"

The challenges are all about stretching your skills, learning new techniques, and improving. You dont have to be a "pro" to take part. And it is about having fun with it! "thumbsup"

Feel like I better try this one

Please do join in if you want to! The more the merrier!

Spent time on this shovel all day.

beleive me - picking what to do was not easy! i didnt want it to be too easy (boredom) but I didnt want to make it too much of a challenge, either (scare people off)

had a brief discussion with sgtsteve and we figured it out.

thnk you heartless.

I personally was hoping for more tool/shop stuff after building the toolbox's. I had and still do have what I think would be a few interesting builds/pieces that I would choose for challenges if/when I might get lucky enuff to win a challenge. can't wait to see what different "tools" everyone comes up with to build.

I've actually got started on one of our bigger tools tonight and will get some pics posted up tomorrow.

what do you guys use for a filler I seen some green putty stuff people use and where can I get it thanks for the help

That's what I use "green putty". Purchased at local Hobby shop in the model building supply section. Dries fast and sands easy and quick. Only get small amounts out and keep the cap on as it dries quick.

Still wondering what tools to build.....

my LHS doesnt have the green putty - picked up a tube of bondo type glazing & spot putty & it works just fine. nice red color, makes it easy to see against the white styrene - also dries pretty fast, so just little dabs on a piece of cardboard or something & recap.

I havent figured out what to make yet either, so dont feel bad, jrkilburn... tossing a couple of ideas around in my head, but...

Same stuff I use works good.
