Supershafty coming with tons of options. The axles and axle parts are up for preorder. Pretty soon you can piece a Capra together without buying a kit. That’s the price for the knuckles everything looks like it’s priced individually.

Lots of good parts popping up, hopefully you'll all have them tested for me so I can make my decisions later on .

Treal has them in aluminum with adjustable brass C's, knuckles and covers as well as upgraded stub shafts.

Who is this new Treal company? American or Chinese?

I think Super Shafty's 20% off preorder price should be the regular price. They are asking a lot for axles that look unfinished (judging by their AR60 version).

For those interested, I believe I've found the perfect slipper spring to replace the plastic "slipper" piece Axial gives us:

Traxxas part #1994

Officially, it's the "slipper retention spring" for the Nitro Rustler, Nitro Slash, & T-Maxx, but is a perfect fit for the Capra.

Your slipper pad isn’t seated.
I know. Topher Builds caught it already...and, to think, I didn't even notice. Now, I gotta take the friggin' thing apart again. Really getting tired of that...lol

You may be able to loosen the slipper and then spin a driveshaft until it falls into place without removing it all from the cage.

Except that, in order to have visual confirmation that the slipper pad is correctly in-place, that requires removing the transmission housing piece covering the spur gear, which requires removing the trans from the skid, which requires removing the skid from the vehicle. Of course, removing the spur cover piece also requires removing the pinion cover piece, which requires everything else mentioned.

Axial did a great job on developing a vehicle that can do just about anything (that a scale crawler should be capable of doing), but they didn't do such a good job of designing a vehicle that can easily be maintained. From my Traxxas vehicles, to my TLR vehicles, and even my Trail King (which isn't 100% finished) & XRAY T4, all are much easier to maintain. Removing/reattaching the 8 screws (4 holding frame to skid, & 4 holding shocks to frame) isn't so bad, but it's the rest of what must be done, not to mention the "confined" working space.

I'm going to use the CA glue suggestion, using just a tiny 'dot' at 3 of the 6 corners...that'll hold the pad in place, yet without making it difficult to replace...but, don't so might have to wait a week (starting today, I've got a fairly busy work week, plus I'm busy working on my 'Project Predator' project).

Watching this video got the wheels inside my head turning. I don't live near snow...but, for those who do, I'm wondering if there's a way to attach the TRX-4 Traxx to the Capra. I mean...seriously...imagine a Capra with some all-terrain tracks on it. My brain is working overtime...think it's time to finish getting ready for work.

LOL. Set it and forget it.
Doesn't always work that way. With crawlers, maybe 'yes', but with other vehicles...especially race vehicles...'no'. Different track conditions can require changing diff fluid weights, shock oil weights, amount of preload, shock mounting positions, spring rates, tires, camber angle, toe-in angle, etc. While races vehicles are, build-wise, less complicated, maintaining proper setup is more complicated.

As I'm discovering, even with crawlers, it can take quite a bit of 'tinkering' before finding the best setup. Once that point is achieved, your "Set it and forget it" will hold true...well, until it's time to replace the shock oil, or the axle grease, or the transmission grease, or the bearings. Guess "set it and forget it" doesn't even hold true for crawlers...lol

Nice tip!

Looking for a little input on HH Revolver selection.
Currently have a CC Mamba Micro X2 combo w/Slate 2280kv
Thinking about getting a Revolver but not sure between stubby or not, and 2200kv or 2500kv
Rig is pushing the 8lb threshold, not sure of exact weight yet as it's still a work in progress
Battery is a 3S
I'm leaning towards the 2200kv but only seems to be available at HH and says "may take 1-2 weeks for processing"
Likely also will drop a P tooth from 11 to 10 while I'm swapping so that makes me lean to the 2500kv
Stubby or not really is indifferent as plenty of space for either. Either way I plan on shortening the motor leads to clean up all the excess wire in the cockpit. The ESC is mounted on the "firewall" just above the trans.
Love the audible feedback of these!

Why switch motors? The Slate is an excellent setup for the Capra. I'd only suggest a Revolver stubby for those looking for the lightest rig.
