The unofficial official axial portal buggy.

That's what I thought to but I keep seeing people mentioning the micro x for use in Capra, maybe I missed something..

EDIT: Regarding the Mamba Micro X being considered for use in the Capra - please see the linked post below - no longer recommended because of the overall gearing of the vehicle - Apologies!:

The Mamba Micro X Crawler Edition is being mentioned because it will work fine for such a lightweight crawler - in fact it's almost as if it was designed with the Capra (4lbs) in mind. Very compact, will take 3S, waterproof, has the Aux Wire capability just like its bigger brothers.

From their site:

"Recommended Motors: Castle's "Slate" crawler motors (combos available) and Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro 540 "Stubby" (≤ 2700kv)
Max. Recommended Vehicle Weight: 8lbs when used for low speed/moderate driving style; 4lbs for more aggressive driving styles."

A HH Revolver would work great with one of these ESCs, too.

Castle also has their Castle Creations B-Link Bluetooth Adapter that is now Android compatible...

Sweet!

I literally posted moments ago about wanting to read it, had just checked the Axial site...

Thanks!

Edit: odd... Part# AXI230002 is listed in the manual as not included - it's the actual light board that goes on the roof-mounted lightbar. It's listed at RPP for $15.99.

The Capra page at Axial's site states:

"LED LIGHT BAR
A roof mounted LED light bar helps light the way on those late night crawls with your friends. Additional LED lights can be added to the front headlights (optional LED lights not included)."

Might be a little error. I would read this as the light in the bar is included, but the LEDs for the headlights are not.
.

ERROR...man i keep missing these. The LED bar is included, the LED's for teh headlight buckets is not.

It should be noted this is not the "corrected" manual that will be coming in future kits, only the first batch get these errors... Limited edition manuals :lmao:

Excellent - thanks for letting us know. Figured it was just a minor error. :ror:

I'm just going to use the Micro X and 2700kv stubby in the Capra because I already have it (currently in a Wraith.) I'll likely buy a standard Mamba X to put back in the Wraith as well as throwing the Revolver back in so it can be run on 4s like it deserves! I don't think dimensions of the esc/rx tray have been mentioned anywhere, but Horizon recommends the AE5-L esc, so at least that size (47x34x29) should fit. The Tekin RX4 is 41x51x36, so I would think a standard Mamba X at 54x35x30 should fit fine.

I've got a set of the 5.4" Boggers on another car (used them on my Wraith for awhile too) and they worked much better than expected on rock, hooked ledges better than my 2.2" Hyraxes, and the sidewalls feel more pliable (and don't hook on everything) too, they just didn't sidehill on slick rock as well, and obviously drag the diffs more often vs a big 2.2. I'm going to resist the urge to go huge (for now) and see how well things go with 4.75" rubber. I'd be willing to bet that the Capra on 4.75" tires will already be able to go places/do things that my Wraith on 5.75" tires can't do.

OMG I want a refund! :lmao:

Just kidding. First run errors are to be expected.

So when will we know the release date?

How about Castle Creations Sidewinder SW4 will it fit into the chassis? As I wanted to run on REVOLVER SNUBNOSE 540 V2 SENSORLESS Motor.

Sidewinder4:

ESC Size: L: 2.08" (52.92mm) W: 1.50" (38.05mm) H: 1.28" (32.56mm)

Tekin RX4 was used and it is slightly larger at:

41x51x36

It should ft... "thumbsup"

I did a search on the thread, but didn't see... Does anyone know the included pinion gear tooth count?

I noticed that most (all?) of the Capra parts listings are up on Tower's site now. I started adding up the axle sets and you're looking at roughly $250 to build the pair piece meal, well $231.87 without bearings or screws anyway.

I've also been searching around for other micro servo options since I HATE that most of them have no servo horn options other than what's included, and they generally include brittle (ABS?) horns. It also looks like most of them have the same specs as the Tower Pro MG90S, which can be had for $4. I did come across the JX1151 which should fit, has more torque, and a standard 25 spline output, for the same cost as the Spektrum SX107 servo that is recommended for the kit (which sure looks like an MG90S with a shorter lead.)

Interesting tire choice?
