The unofficial official axial portal buggy.

VP dig has been around for a long time for the 3 gear trans.

We're delving into the realm of semantics, here... ;-)

What I'll find most appealing is a setup that is roughly 12.3"-12.8" wheelbase, will bolt up to the more modern Capra trans and portal axles, yet fit the popular bodies we have out there.

BPC Customs and Xtreme Racing both make Bomber skid/axle compatible chassis rails, but there are very few bodies that will fit that particular combo.

I know, because I have the latter, and have been procrastinating assembling it because of the body situation.

It's just a matter of time before we see it happen... (I'm speaking of the Capra setup, who knows if I will ever build mine?)

I turned my wraith into a solid axle monster truck using an strc aluminum conversion chassis. I wanted to start crawling again so I just threw my crawler tires on the monster truck chassis. I'm using a jconcepts 2008 Ford Monster Truck Body that fits great. Those bodies have a longer wheelbase and would probably work for your current bomber project

Short course bodies are where it's at if you want to throw lexan on a bomber/wraith and have it cover the wheels. Yeti SCORE bodies or AE SC8 will fit at Bomber length, everything else is close enough at Wraith length. Width is perfect unless you're running huge hubs. Tucks with zero rubbing with .225 hubs and 5.75" tires.

There's gotta be someone in Illinois that has their Capra by now, right? Is it here yet?!

Thanks, but the wheelbase of the Bomber is 14.75"... not gonna work.

Not a fan of monster truck bodies, anyway - too narrow.

(also, not wanting to derail this Capra thread any further!)

Believe me, I have researched the situation.

I did finally find and purchase a body to use, it's nothing like what anyone would expect.

Not going to "unveil" it until it's finally complete... "thumbsup"

Horizon has warehouses in CA and IL....so there is definitely one in IL as they are scheduled to arrive around the first week of October.

What scale is the Capra supposed to be? The cage looks to narrow to be 1/10 scale compared to the Bomber.

Bomber is not actually 1/10 scale. Capra was more appropriately sized. The bomber came with 5.5inch tall tires. In 1:1 that translates to 55 inch tall tires.

What im trying to say is, the capra is actually the first proper sized tuber in the rc world coming out from production.

I'm refreshing the FedEx tracking like mad. Supposed to be at my house tomorrow, but it only left Illinois this morning at 4:16AM so my hopes aren't high that I'll be building this weekend.

Woohoo! I just got tracking for mine, coming from so-cal (like 3.5hrs from me), so hopefully it'll be here by Monday, maybe even tomorrow!

RPP order is supposed to be here tomorrow, and my ebay stuff by Monday (finally broke down and ordered the Tekno shock pliers.) A friend of mine is working out of town tomorrow, right by a hobby shop, so he's going to grab paint for me while he's there. Not bad timing!

It's 1/10 scale, and almost spot on at that, but most "1/10" scale cars seem to run big nowadays. A bomber is in reality more like 1/8 scale.

You right about the bomber. But when compared to similar 1:1 tubers the axles to me seems to wide on the Capra.

They definitely are a bit wide. I'm interested in seeing what the standard AR44 axles look like under it.

With dig, portals, front OD gears, some wheel weight up front, etc, how close can the Capra come to crawling as well as a comp 2.2 MOA?

Is there still a huge spread performance wise from shafty to MOA, or is the gap tightening?

Sorry if its a dumb question, the 4-5 rigs Ive owned have always been pretty basic shafty's, and always Axial.

Ive never had an MOA, Dig, portals, or OD/UD gears in any of my rigs.

Maybe I'm not asking the right question.

Just wondering if I'm going to be blown away before I drop the coin?
