This bugs me....

if we depended on the for sale section for "reference pics" we'd all be in trouble..

Maybe, but it is very helpful to be able to look through past sales and see condition and selling price if I want to sell something similar.

Maybe thats why Saydee overprices everything...he can't find anything to reference to...

my only obligation as a seller is to make shure it gets to the buyer.
asap.

most of my pics are on photobucket anyway..
if the buyer wants to brag about his latest score he should have
saved a pic of what it is he bought.
why blame the seller for the buyer's lack of forsight.

if ya really wanna gripe about something how about those who dont post pics at all????

I also dont buy from those people. I dont want to brag I simply want to be able to look at the pics when I get my items to make SURE that i got what I was supposed to. especially if its a large item that has quite a few parts.

You do have an obligation whether you believe you do or not. If you dont want to be bothered I get it. But its still not sensible.

Just be a straight up seller and all will be good. Im not even saying that you have ever been dishonest nor made a bad deal. not accusing of anything actually. Im just stating what should be the norm for people who wouldnt just figure this would be the right thing to do.

There is no reason to remove the pic. Its more work and it opens the mind of the buyer to questionable intentions.

yeah just like was posted above, take a screen shot, copy/paste the picture and all that stuff....when i get payment for an item i'm selling i delete the ad aswell, no big deal....the person paid for what i was selling after a PM or two and a deal was made....we all know stuff sold here is 90% used and 10% still NIP, plus we all know what used price's should be....i sell most used stuff at 50/60% of new shipped "thumbsup" ........bob

....

Not that I sell a lot, but when I do I delete the stuff from the add. Mostly because it drives me nuts to be searching for something only to have a bunch of stuff come up that is already sold. Sometimes I have to surf through threads just to see that it's sold already, that's much more annoying that not seeing a pic of something I already bought.

I understand although you can do the same thing AFTER the buyer has received goods.

This is the thing. If you buy an item worth a couple hundred bucks or more, you bought the items of a pic. Most of time that pic tells way more then a vague ad listing. I am only stating that if you want to take a honest ethical approach to selling on this forum it would be kind to leave the photos and listing up until after all is received. It's just the right thing to do. You guys are just making excuses to combat this approach.

You can do what you want Im just saying its the respectable way to do business.

You don't want to deal with any unneeded Pms yada yada whatever. I CAN take snapshots and will. But legitimately when someone does take down the listing details and/or photos it creates uneasyness in the buyer, and furthermore creates anxiety until the package is recieved.

Once I did happen to take a snapshot of a ad as i always try to remember to do. It was a loaded Wraith with a ton of upgrades done to it. When I got it It had several Vp upgrades removed from it. Go figure the guy when I bought it removed the whole listing. When I approached the seller about the said items missing I had to send him a Pic of the original posting. He made good on the deal. What was he trying to pull.... Who knows. But the fact is not everyone is honest and if you are just leave the friggin pics up till the transaction is complete. Its the least you can do.

I posted this because I hoping to educate people on the proper thing to do in my own opinion. I think its resonable. Of course we are all going to do what we want. But I personally will continue to do business on here like I would want to be treated if I were on the receiving end. I'm sure they will appreciate it. Especially on high ticket items.

Caveat emptor. Right click, save. I delete the ad as soon as I receive payment to cut down on clutter in the For Sale Forum. Sorry you've had some bad experiences.
