Tire sizes on a TF2

Ive been wondering about what size of wheel and tire is good to run on the tf2. I know stock its on 1.55 wheels and tires. But if I wanted to try 1.9 wheels and tires, what is the best most reasonable height 1.9 tire to try and run. I dont want to cut up the stock body honestly, and know the body can be lifted slightly as well. But I want to try and keep the body low and still get a nice 1.9 on it and not hace it chew into the body in the wheel wells.

So if anyone has had good results on running a 1.9 tire set, and will help out, I'd be greatful. Appreciate the help.

The maximum tire size I'd say you can run without cutting up the body is around 3.9". That's what I used to run on my tf2 when I was trying to rock a mildly modified look. Anything bigger and you might have to start cutting the front lower valence

Yes sir, gogles been a friend in searching images and things for the tf2. Also been going through the pics area here and looking at the trucks posted up there for a better visual idea. I did try some of the gelande 2 kit wheels and tires out on my tf2, and noticed theyre not much taller really, but alot softer though. So still wondering around the net and looking for a solid idea.

If at all possible Id like to not have to cut on the body. But removal of the valence is done alot to get larger diameter tires to work on them for sure. But as always, the body may need to be relieved of some mass around the wheel wells to get the bigger wheels and tires to work without the issues of body rub. Appreciate the help here so far.

Yup so if you don't want to cut up the body....tire sizes of around 3.9". The mud thrashers being my favorite of that size

Here are some pics of when I used to run a mildly modded look

1.9 mud thrashers 3.9"

i have the rc4wd irocs on my tf2 and they are way to big lol so i have to lift the body or cut the front valance

I would recommend the IROK 1.7" and the 1.7" wheels. IMO they are the best scale look and appearance and you will not be disappointed with the performance. RC4WD says the OD is 4.10", but I can tell you they are just a smidgen taller than the 1.9 PL Flat Irons.

I have them on my red truck, take a look.

Alternately on my brown truck, I have 1.55 Pit bull growlers. Their website shows them as 4.19". The are almost identical in size compared to my iroks (physical measurements).

That being said, I didn't have to trim a single thing anywhere in either truck. In only some very extreme circumstances does the red truck rub the front tire on the leaf spring. No issue to me.

Hope this helps.

So want am I doing wrong then??? lol I have the same setup as the red truck and mine rubs the front of the wheel arch near the grill just sitting there flat what springs are you running?? Thinking I'll need to replace the Reds up front with the blacks... Help with the ride height.

you have the 1.55" version which is listed @ 4.33" OD. 4x42hel is running the 1.7" version, listed @ 4.18" OD. i know .15" doesnt sound like much but it makes a difference. Also have to consider the 1.55" version is .12" wider than the 1.7" version

Sorry just to clarify I have the 1.7 size wheel and tire.

Here's mine with 1.55 Rock Stompers. As far as looks go, these are my favorite tires but not the best performing. I went a long time not cutting off the lower valance but got tired of the limited tire choices and fender rubs. My truck's no shelf queen, its become a trail rig. I did put 3mm blocks under the leaf springs to give it a mild lift.

Its weird how my first pic looks like the rear sits lower than the front. The stance is set up at level ride height. Crazy camera angle I guess.

Same here. I went a long time deciding whether I should cut the valance off. I'm glad I did
