Toyota Truck for Trucking

Last night I got out the sewing machine and sewed up a little cover for the seat. Interior's essentially done. Although, I forgot to do up a rear view mirrlol.

For all intents and purposes, this is pretty much done. Needs a shakedown run or two, but I'm very happy with the final product. Super-mild build, but sometimes, simple is nice for the sake of just getting it done. A few bits and bobs and it's on the shelf until the end of August.

A box from South Korea showed up today and these wheels seemed to fit the build infinitely better. Plus, the deep offset tucks them right under the fenders. Beautiful.

I like the new wheels, they've got a nice stock appearance to them. Nice clean simple build all around!

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the speed at which this build went together.

How did you mount the front guard?

Badboy

Not sure how to answer this. The sarcastic answer would be with screws and a little drilling. The less sarcastic answer would be with no modifications to the TF2, I used the stock mounting holes for the bumper mount, and drilled a couple holes. I also used a couple spacers to make up the difference in width between the RCModelex bumper and the frame. Pretty easy.

That's gonna look even cooler in person! "thumbsup"

I'm trying to get the stupid 60 done, so people can see that in person as well. Don't hold your breath, you might pass out.

Concourse is going to be tough at ECSC.

It should be easy - n00b wins.

I took it out for a shakedown run today at Headquake Park for Dogs. It's a great little performer. Tons better than I thought it would be. Did better than a lot of others I've driven before. Which spells disaster for my hopes to come in last. DARN IT. The 15T motor is horrendously loud. It sounded like I was vacuuming the woods for Headquake. The suspension is plush, has a lot of torque thanks to that transmission swap and turns like a champ. These Gmade tires actually do a good job of hooking up. I thought for sure I'd be swapping them out for the 1.55 Growlers, but I may not now. They're pretty good. This might be my favourite truck right now, no fooling.

Idk how I missed the updates on this thing. It looks very good. I like the pinstriping and detail on the interior. Rpp has a rear view mirror for sale now also. I may be wrong but I think rc4wd makes it.
Very nice build.

Thanks sirs.

I went to Ohio and this new body came home with me.

Hooray for rare, pre-4Runner, 4Runners! AKA, the Griffin Trailblazer.

Oh N00b, you're silly. Thanks sir. Brilliant work as per usual.

I have chosen some new tires and wheels and I will be using this in Class 1 again this year, with some modifications.

1.7 TTC Baja Claws. They're a great little tire. I added the RC4WD disc brake hubs to the 1.7 wheels. They're nice.

N00b said something silly about having to run leaf springs for "accuracy" this year. But I want to do BETTER this year, not worse!

Old Man Birds are in order.
