My son and I each have Wraiths and have been going to the greenway near us and enjoying it quite a bit. I wanted to see if there was anyone else in Raleigh (we're actually in Apex) that knows of any good areas that you can go and trail drive. Usually we walk along until we find some mud or rocks and then play for a while. I want to find something more out in the woods where you can actually hike a little and drive the trucks.

I know a lot of guys that mountain bike at Umstead park and New Light and wondered if those were appropriate to bring the trucks to.

I'm in Holly Springs and also looking for more places to go. I have a nice area right by my house, but it's small. I also go to Lake Johnson in Raleigh (near NCSU, on Avent Ferry just off Tryon) - there's a great dirt trail around the lake, lots of exposed tree roots and a creek with rocks and a small waterfall.

I haven't gone to Umstead in a while. There is a long hiking trail at the Harrison Ave entrance that would be great for rc, I may go out there soon.

There's also MTB trails at Harris Lake park that might be fun.

One guy who started a FB page also lives n Apex and has a Wraith, he said there's some stuff at the end of the Peakway; however we've not met up yet.

You interested in a little trail ride this weekend? I have a Honcho SCX10, always looking to go out.

I know out on US 64 near Pittsboro is the Haw River. Just take 64 west from Apex till you cross Falls lake, You'll come to a traffic light about 2 miles farther. About another two miles or less is Haw River. Big concrete bridge. Cross over the bridge and make a U-turn, cross back over the bridge and on the right is a turn out just past the guard rail. You can park there and walk down to the waters edge. There is a path that runs beside the river that can take you to some gnarly rocks. It's Very nice. As your walking down the path you'll have to cross 2 creek beds, after crossing the second one, stay to the right, if you go left, not sure where it goes, if you stay right, it takes you to the rocks. Don't worry, the hike is about 1/4 mile or less and is pretty open on the paths. But the rocks are well worth the walk. Carolina Rock Runners, the group I was with, held several comps there. I places 3rd in one. It's great scale and comp rock. Some rock is slick as glass, some worn as granite, plenty of sandy areas, and water too, but if the waters low, no problem. Nothing your going to be sloshing through.

I'm not too far from the Haw river but not sure how high the water will be this weekend. I heard we'd be having rain. Let me check with the wife. I know she had plans for me to do yard work this weekend but could probably get out to the Lake Johnson thing on Sunday. I need to run through my son's Wraith because he beat it to death this past weekend. I think he wanted to break something, haha.

I haven't been there in several years but Bond Park over in Cary has several areas that I can recall would be great for trail running. Most of the walking trails there use to be gravel and run through the woods the whole way.

Im looking for people to go trailing with, Im in havlock but would love to go trailing with others on the weekend. If you plan on trailing some weekend hit me up 803-305-7097.

I've got a scx10 and I know of a place close to Thomasville that has rock sand and a little water hit me up after 4 and I'm thinking of going there next Saturday
