Thank's for throwing this in here too... I got a few EMAXX project's that I need to get back to and try to finish up too over this winter the main one is a custom made chassis'ed & 4-link set up Crawler that will be running a sweet set of one off custom made Axle Unit's I'll, see when I get back into finishing that one up soon if I have any good in the work's pic' I could share with every one on here too.... Cool I'll look it up. I thought I had a book on that stuff but it turns out it's Race Car Aerodynamics I bought for when I was trying to make my luge more aerodynamic and it actually limits drafting !
Anyway thanks, and I'll try to find the spring wire.




YEa I think stiff springs will work for street and jumping, and if doing bumpy terrain I can swap in softer springs and angle the shocks for more travel.
Cant wait to see this Airborn !

if it were me the landing wouldnt be too much of an issue. mainly because i wouldve crapped myself in mid air providing me a nice soft coshy yet squishy landing :ror:

no My last Luge Race was Rio De Jenerio 2006 .
I raced for 5 years
It just got to expensive and I really got fed up with bad judgment calls and lack of rule enforcement, took the fun out of it when a guy could kick you or keep you from passing and get away with it. sucks to spend that much money and get cheated

Team Associated has an awesome chassis tuning guide on thier website. And, there is a fairly basic but still good guide in thier owners manuals. The website references an incredibly thick suspension bible for 1:1 race cars. I think its around 800 pages or so. I haven't read it, my head would probably explode as soon as I cracked the cover.

Stand up means that he races down hill skate board. You should see the speeds ans crashes these guy do, they think laying down is nuts I say 40+mph standing up and then one foot to slow down is nuts. but it's all about the skill .

cool, I miss boarding.
You can start out with Classic style luge, 3 foot long skateboard and lay down on it. cheap light weight great for parking garages !! get a few buddies most fun on wheels

While I was waiting for my Fiegao 7XL motor and new steel Idler gear I spent some time on cleaning up the thrashed body. there was a lot of fix tape and black guey residue on the front, cracks, rubbed off paint , barrier paint scrubbed on and a few stickers I wanted removed not to mention the mucky black exhaust on the inside
So with some Goo off orange gel, simple green, rag and a razor knife I cleaned up most of the body. the front has a few holes and a lot of glue holding the other half on so I will remmend it , paint it and hide some of the holes with a Scale look grill mesh
So it's pretty clean now , guess I should have taken a before pic, oh well.

Wow this motor is huge and heavy

Don't remember who said to use Piano wire for sway bar, but no offense
I think that is a wild goose chase.
I am better off copying what other 1/8 scale Rc's are doing for sway bars , If any... if so Buy it and use it.

I'd guess it's near 1lb so Looks Like I need to Lay the Tranny/motor down,
but not till I drive it 8)

A while back I took my old SMaxx Sportmaxx tires, trimmed the bead off both sides, turned them inside out, and mounted them on a spare set of Revo rims. The work pretty good and have a low profile. Made a nice, cheap set of street slicks so I wouldn't tear up my Talons or Zombies. Lots of fun on wet grass. ;-) A little squishy though...and because I no longer have a fat bead to hold them in place, it was a little tough getting them glued in correctly.

You might be able to do something similar if you could get ahold of some beadlock rims in a regular monster truck size. Maybe find some street tires (or flip some AT's inside out...) you could stretch over the rim, stuff some foams in them, and clamp 'em down.

Like I said, you should be able to find "piano" or "music" wire at the hardware store. I don't think the Depot or Lowes will have it. Its not a very big display. Just looks like a bunch of different sizes of steel rod standing up in little tubes. It'll look something like this...

5" x 2 3/4"wide
fits jato rims, 2.8 maybe old 3.2

next up XTM tires
5" x 2 5/8 wide

3rd Proline road weapons
but I think they are 2.2 rim

Although I think with this powerful motor these tires would be silly on hard pack

Rode on a mountain road at night once, big flash light on the front, rode for about 3 miles, it was badass.
You know there is always Ice blocking down the golf course at night when it wet. Best fun for a buck for sure
