transmission issues

im not complaining by any means, im just asking for some advice or opinions.
my transmission worked great for the first 30 minutes then the next day i ran it again on a backyard corse and the trans gears were turning but no wheel movement on the ground. so i tightened the slipper clutch and the wheels had torque again. the problem now is that the trans is very noisy. more so than when it first ran. i took the trans out and pulled the outside cover off, everything looked fine. so i buttoned the cover back up, hand spun the drive shaft and it sounded good. put everything back in place (those drive shaft ends need to be rounded where they slip into each other) and adjusted the motor and secured it in place. needless to say as soon as i put power to it, just as noisy as before. any beta would be much appreciated, thanks. im going to try and find a way to put an audio clip on here to let you know what im talking about.

it jibs out halfway through because of 8 cells on a brushless goat motor. dont pay attention to that. it's the grinding im worried about. thanks

are you sure its the transmission. Kinda sounds like the spur and pinion have trash in the teeth also. could be bad mesh or the diffs.

Sounds more like gear mesh to me.

If the pinion mesh is good and the teeth aren't blown out, check your end points (and centering) on your dig servo. I notices a strange noise like that while setting up my dig. Once the center and end points were good it went away.

Same here. As soon as you get the dig servo centered and right all noise goes away.

His dig worked fine from the Getgo. . just got noisy after the Slipper adj.
The MRC servo gets noisy as hell too- besides in 4wd. , back off the epa's too much + it doesn't fully engage Fr/
Rr Digs. . .

Mine started making noise as well just a 1/2 hour ago. Took the drive shafts out and loaded them with grease. BYE BYE noise. Try that, it worked for me.

Just saw 1 of Dkingstons' posts- An 'E'clip on the shift rod for dig, wasn't completely seated- not allowing FULL throw fwd/back. . .

the dig servo seems to be working out fine. it has pleanty of power and travel. the noise seems to be coming from the trans but i think im going to take the axels and lube the ish out of them, but the drivelines in a drill and spin um.:mrgreen:

ok i went through and lubed the DRY axels, loaded them up with marine jelly. and the darn thing still makes the same noise from the original post video. anything will help. also when it comes to a 90 like floor to a wall it does not seem to want to take the front up like the back is turning faster than the front or something. any info please.

make sure your set screw on your pinion isn't "ticking" the spur.

Is the noise from the tranny or from the axles?

You could remove the driveshafts from both ends of the tranny and then run the motor. If there is no noise then connect one of the driveshafts and run again. If no noise then it points to the remaining axle.

If there is noise when no driveshafts are attached then I would completely strip the tranny and rebuild it from scratch following the manual to the letter, but maybe add a little more grease.

We put in 18 tooth partner! The noise didn't start until the 'Slipper' slipped and he snugged the nut down.. Limited runtime since Day1 I don't think the axles even got hot friday after 'building' her. Glad you got some marine grease though- I heard the screeching from here. . . I think it's the tranny, but He's sick, so I ain't wrenching on it til' that passes!

I had noise too. It ended up being the drive shaft cv's had no grease and the little play and no grease= noise. Try checking the drive shafts.
