Traxxas Rock Crawler

I think it will be a super. Think about it, why else would they release a new four channel receiver. Throttle, steering, rear steering, dig.

Every Maxx the produced was an improvement over the last. Same thing with the REVO's, and all their new releases for that matter.

As for the speed thing, yeah they advertise it, and no its not far off for speed. They clearly state that you need an 7-8 cell battery with proper gearing to reach those speeds.

As for durability, ARE YOU INSANE??? There is hands down NO other company that puts out more durable rigs than traxxas. They don't market their stuff to racers, yes the revo is an awesome performer on the track, but their market is bashers. therefor the trucks are usually heavyer, more stable and crazy strong. Who cares that you broke you Maxx, with an Idiot like you driving I am amazed you got it out of the box in one piece.:roll:

X2, of what the HTU I work for sells, the Traxxas vehicles are among the most reliable, durable (well, maybe when it comes to the Maxx trucks....), and are normally the easiest to get parts for as well as having the best customer service of any manufacturer I've delt with! Having owned a Pede for over 9.5 years, a Bandit for nearly 11 years, and an Electric 4-tec for 9 years, I know the durability of these vehicles and love the fact that they can take a beating.

As far as your little speed talk, anyone who has been in the hobby for a while will tell you that speed is not what wins races. Its the driver. You put a noob out there with the claimed "70 mph 4 tec" vs. a experianced driver with the topd speed of 45mph, and they will mop the floor with them. But again, like I said, If I was the marketers, I would do the same thing since its whats noobs are always concerned with. Thing that sucks is they go and buy these 4tecs thinking they have the fastest thing on the planet, but then later find out the thing handles like a brick on wheels and figure that since its so fast, it should be one of the best cars out there and get discouraged by the hobby. I know I fell into this when I 1st got into the hobby. I bought a 4tec because of the speed. the handeling left a huge sour taste in my mouth. Then it got stolen (which Im suprised it wasnt broughten back) and under some pressure after debating saying f-it with the nitro stuff, I bought a Savage and relized not every nitro is a shit wagon, and fell in love with it. Not everyone is going to be willing to drop another $400-$500 to give the hobby a 2nd chance..

Traxxas is one of (if not the best) company out there. Of course they are going to try to appeal to a new Audience with faster top speeds and a lot of new and different vehicles. Of course when you run a car in to a curb parts are going to break, its part of the hobby. AND TRAXXAS PARTS ARE NOT THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING OUT THERE. And do you honestly think that they could market something saying it will go 70 and it not?

Tmaxx REVOLUTIONIZED the industry, outsold the RC-10 DYNASTY in 5yrs.

You must not know SH!T about the series of vehicles. Tmaxx with the .15 from "back in the day" was a crappy motor that ran at 300 degrees and sucked. then to the 2.5 with the std trans. NOW the Revo trans in the Tmaxx for efficency made a new version with the truck along with the 3.3. Its called innovation The reason there are choices is because of REAL vehicles. You can buy a Magnum with a V6, V6 AWD, V8 HEMI and i think V8 hemi AWD why is this not considered the same crap with a new engine. The changes are VAST and huge improvements.
 
Traxxass is where they are now simply because of one thing and one thing only, Marketing! From day one of their start in R/C they have taken existing vehicles, virtually copied everything about them and Marketed the Sh1t out of them.

Faster .... Bigger. ..... Better ...... Low prices ....... BIG TRUCKS ..... Its all about marketing and pricing.

I saw Traxxas start with there car and even owned a Sledgehammer, they have ALL been copies. Im not knocking them but they certainly are not innovators when it comes to this hobby in my eyes. Need an example ..... Take a T-Maxx apart and compare everything to the Tamiya Terra Crusher. Why did the Terra Crusher flop in comparison to the T-Maxx ..... wasnt a lessor company, it was marketed better.

My guess is they'll simply copy something already out here and like ( i believe Dez said ) we will take what we want off of it and make our own.


Id say bring it on ..... Super or 2.2 ....... give it a shot. Who knows what parts we will benefit from. "thumbsup"

It could go either way, nitro, electric, solid axle, independent Traxxas has never ceased to amaze me with their creativity. Hopefully we will be able to use it for a real rock crawler. But I figure it is going to be really big, like super in size. Stairs aren't the easiest thing to climb straight up.

they already have the shocks and the stampede trans, they just need a solid axle, and a chassis. I'm hopin they come out with a kickass tire/beadlock combo"thumbsup"

I'm glad Traxxas is finally making a crawler! I emailed them twice (before & after the AX-10 came out) and told them they need to make a crawler. They allready make half the parts they need. I just hope they give me some kickbacks or a tester or something! "thumbsup"

I don't know why everybody is hatin on Traxxas. They make good stuff. Not the best, but good. About 70% of the stuff I sell is Traxxas. EVERYBODY in my neck of the woods has or used to have a T-Maxx. It changed the game.

Plus how many of us ran or run a pede tranny?

If I remember correctly, at least most of the early crawlers used Tamiya Clod axles.
Anyway, I'm really surprised that Traxxas would make a crawler.:shock: They call themselves "the Fastest Name in Radio Control" for a reason. All of their current vehicles are aimed at the speed crowd.
