Facebook was flooded with this news, but maybe not everybody is on there - so here we go. People's demand has been heard: Traxxas TRX-4 kit - with a rather decent looking 79 Bronco body! Now that's what you want to see - they listened and deliver:

Just that chrome push bar is a new piece for other rigs. Comes with mirrors, wheel wells, as if Knight Customs himself made them! And Aluminum Methods??? Seriously? I am not a Ford guy, but this lexan body sure looks cool - noticed the clear windows in the front? Score! I can get exited about this kit. Haven't built a stock one right out of the box for a while and thought about the options of SCX10.2, Venture, Ascender.... but now this. Can't wait for the price tag.

I'm pretty sure that is a modified truck to show off all their option parts. They are releasing a kit (with rtr electronics included) but I think it's a stock chassis/no body.

Edit: Also looks like some of the key components are pre-built.

I hear you. We'll see. If it's just a chassis kit, the ones that can't stand Ford will be happy AND the other ones can buy it without the kit. Sounds like win/win.

Yes and no.

They are releasing the kit with electronics and no body. But, they are also releasing the Bronco body kit as its own thing, with options like the pushbar and such.

Interested but why a kit WITH electronics? Might as well Just get a RTR and off the parts you don't want.

I get trying to keep as much $$ as possible but last I checked Traxxas isn't the only mfg to have a multi channel TX. I do get it though as it would be the cheapest way in without setting up a ton of channel mixes etc. on a 4ch for instance. can you externally program the ESC for different set ups?

To a degree. Traxxas uses a blue tooth add on, but the ESC is primitive vs my BLE. As far as using the Traxxas TX , I hate it vs my Futaba PlS

How can you step it up from the Trx4? What can the other companies do that would put them over the top ? I can't and dont see nothing else another company can do, portals from axial , perhaps? Its like Trx4 IS at the top of the game, you know?

Some people thought the original SCX10 couldn't be improved upon when it was released...

Yeah its the .2 .... Lol.
Like I've said before , I'm learning the crawler world ( not new to rc bashing), but to me the only difference ibetween the 2 trucks , the 3 link system up front (sorry don't know what its called) , and of course shock geometry and a few other things, but I'm probably wrong , until someone explains the difference(not at this time tho)....

ive got a truck in my hands that ive been trying to push to a certain company to bring back their axles but into a scale side.. lol.
