Sorry guys... I have so many photos for this thread, but how i have to upload from here is a pain! I will get them up eventually. Im also starting an XV01 next week.

I made a custom top plate from carbon fiber for the front foam bumper.

With the added height of the subaru body, the tall body posts flopped around bouncing the body left to right so much that I made a custom post support.

I have since made 2 more bodies for the car, another 2008 subaru which is complete and ill post photos tomorrow. The second is an Evo VII which i tested out TURTLES splatter effect on. I couldnt find decals for the body, so i scanned the Subaru ones to the PC. I am going to print them and cut the out.... Reshape the headlights etc on a paint program. I bought some Papilo clear decal vinyl paper that ill print them out onto for the body. Im still working on that one.

Here is the other Subaru body.

Here is the EVO VII as she sits now. Im not happy with how I did the hood, wish i would have made it all white.. Also being it was the 1st time i did it, i had a hard time at first to direct the splatter where i wanted it to go.. The rear end turned out better once i figured it out, but we'll see how it turns out. Here is a good tip ***instead of using the straight edge of the masking tape where the splatter was going to be, I used the torn ends of the masking tape, and lined them up piece by piece which made a jagged edge, which made blending the splatter into easier. If your not understanding what im trying to say, ill post a photo later.

I just wanted to show you all this. It is not on the car anymore. I wanted the long arms setup but didnt want to spend $100.00 on it, so i started playing around with stuff from my spare parts and unused chassis's. Perhaps it is a start, and someone else may find somthing i didnt to bring it together, so in the end we could figure out a good long arm setup at minimum cost.

All the parts are from an HPI SPRINT 2.
on the right i have sprint arm, c-hub, knuckle and link.

It fits almost perfect, just needs a few spacers.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363415766.877112.jpg
Here is the full front end, and its the same width as the stock setup.

So lets go into the issue with this mod. It needs a 35mm dogbone, which i cant find anywhere. 30mm and 40mm are available in most models. If someone can find the perfect CVD or dogbone to fit this, then we would be in the money...... Im just not going to start ordering a bunch of different ones to try out. Im restricted to what i have here. To make what i had here work, i had to remove the inside bearing and, put spacers on the axle.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363416123.769975.jpg
So then i decided to make a custom hex to remove the shims. This worked out better, but ummph!

Another view from the back

And from the top, after adding 4/40 ball studs and RPM connectors.

Now if someone can find the perfect CVD to eliminate removing the bearing, or the need for the double hex/specers, we would be in business.

For offset yes. But if you notice in the pictures im retaining the same 5mm of the hex and the hex behind is cut out internally to ultimately becoming a 5mm shim.

If i could find the right size dogbone then i could eliminate the 5mm of shimming, pull the axle back in and use the traxxas offset hex. A shorter dogbone is what is needed to make it all workout correctly.
