Trump's Pro-Line Jeep Wrangler Rubicon build.

Rock Sliders:

I started with a brass rod and tube:

I added some mounting plates:

I just need to add some end caps, drill some holes, and little filing here and there:

Here are the Rock Sliders mounted before adding the end caps:

Here is the way they look with the end caps installed:

Floorboards

I started with a couple of pieces of aluminum:

I drew some construction cut lines:

I couple of cuts and I have my base:

A couple of more bends and it's almost done.

Here is the finished floorboard. This is how it looks with the body on. All I have to do is powder coat it and I will be done with the chassis:

Will you be doing inner fender wells

I'm not planning on making fender wells. In my Toyota build (see photo below), I cut in half the bottom of plastic container for fender wells.

Instead of fender wells, I plan on using something to cover the hole so you can't see thru. I made the floorboards because I'm going to use them as battery holders.

Last night I did a little work on the front end. Added some light buckets and tow shackles. I'm not feeling very confident with the tiny little tow shackle holders I made. I might have to come up with something more secure. Anyway, this is what I have for the front end:

I made some tow shackle mounts for the front and rear bumper.

Installed the tow shackles on the rear bumper.

Next up, is to finish the electrical.

I found this on - off switch that came with my radio. The switch allows me to install my batteries without powering the Rx. So I simply plugged one end into the Rx ("BATT") and the other end to the BEC. It couldn't have been any easier.

Here's how my setup looks with a battery installed. I installed my FxR ESC inside the Traxxas box. The radio electronics is in the Axial Rx box except for the BEC which I wanted to install away from the Rx. I added silicone on each end of the BEC.

I made a special Deans connector so if I want, I can run dual batteries:

This is the way it looks running dual batteries:

For now that should do it for the electrical work. I won't have to do any electrical work until I start installing lights.

Well, while I'm waiting for paint supplies, I decided to make some tow hooks. In the front I'm running a Beefy winch.

The rear setup.
20130717_213526.jpg

The rear winch setup consists of a custom KMS winch based off of a Hitec HS7954S servo. The KMS winch is very powerful. While I was spooling in the line I didn't stop the winch on time and it easily snapped the winch line without any hesitation whatsoever.

Well, it took awhile practicing until I got enough 'cohones, to go for it. I was very nervous trying to gently press on the airbrush so I wouldn't get a big blot of paint.

This is my first time I have ever airbrushed a lexan body and one the second lexan body I have ever painted.

Next to paint are the sides. However, today I have to mow the lawn so It won't be until Thursday. Almost there, little by little.

This is sweet, I never though of using a traxxas box to put the esc in. Which box is it? Also liking all the red and bumpers and the double winch's are cool too.

I'm making a little more progress. Here's last night's effort.

I still have to tint the windows. Then I'll work on the interior, lights, and scale items.

OK, I'm on a roll now. Finished up the interior. I used black and chrome, and sprayed the seats candy yellow.

Next I'll tint the windows and start added some scale stuff.

I tinted the side and rear windows, and the top of the windshield. I added some side view mirrors, windshield wipers, and some decals. It looks like I'll have to paint the inside of the shell black.

I started to fit the light bar. I had to make aluminum spacers because of the curvature of the windshield. One would think for the price of the light bar, Vanquish would include a tiny hex wrench for the small hex cap screws. My guess is a 0.5mm allen wrench.

I installed the rear taillights and HiLift jack.

I got the lights mounted:

Close up. I used the smallest grommet I could find. A quarter inch:
20130807_182003.jpg

I wired everything up, turned on the Tx, flipped the Rx switch and voila. The lights came on. I'm using a HeyOK light controller on the forth channel. It nice to just press a button on the 4PL to turn on or off the lights. I dig it.

And one more shot with the LED and front lights on:
20130807_201122.jpg

I need to go to Radio Shack to buy two LED for the lights that are inside the front bumper. Once I get those lights installed that's it for the lighting and it's back to adding scale items.

I took it for a little spin on the driveway and backyard. I really like that Tekin 35T, it's so smooth.

Are you running a winch and lights on the 4pl? I have a dx4s but I don't see a way to have them both on a switch.. EDIT: Nvm I forgot about my shift servo....
