Broken Dawg Mini Baja is my Backyard track, so this will be at my House.

There will be the following courses.

2.2 Comp Class
2.2 Modified
1.9 Scale or Modified
Scale Rally

I'm going to work on course layouts that can be run forward and backwards. There will be a water crossing but it's very small and it barely gets your tires wet, you'd have to really get off course to get in the water. Rally cars have a very good chance of going swimming, it wouldn't be the first car fished out of the pond.

Since this is at the house I'll grab some Hamburger meat and Hamburger buns, bring chips and drinks. I'll also grab a pack of hot dogs for the kids or anyone that prefers a Hot Dog.

Due to the size of the area we will have to limit the amount of people on the track. Driver, officials and photographer, should be the only people on the track at any given time, really this is the way it should always be, spectators and practice runs need to be out of the competitors way.

Well I think that's about it, I will do some more course setup testing and make sure there is a course for all Classes.

Gate opens at 9:30, First Comp starts no later than 11:00 am.

Soooooo, what kinda of motor setup do you think is suitable for rally? Assuming brushless is a little overkill for your backyard track :D . Are BFGs alright, or do they need to be pin tires?

Yes, I'm interested :D

Heck, if i lock some TC3 diffs, I might try out both 1.9 and rally :D

I run mainly stock 27t motors. BFG's work great, I use Rally Block on my Lancia and Narrowed TLT's on my Unimog.

The course is very tight and technical just as rally should be, we will probably run a timed event on the rally.

Oh man I am definately coming, thats on my birthday! And it gets even worse, your house is like five minutes from mine! I have a comp 2.2 and I am working on a 1.9 scaler that I will hopefully get done by then. I have a Traxxas 4-tec that I can try to setup for the rally if that is even possible, it is kind of a POS.

Oh, and I would be glad to help set up the week before, and would also be able to bring drinks, chips, salsa, etc., whatever helps.

This looks like it's going to be a great Comp. I'm revamping all the courses and plan to start testing today.

I will be using my CC01 to test the 1.9, more paint problems with the High-lift...errrrr, it's about to get dunked in brakefluid and sprayed with rustoleum, I sick of high dollar clears failing, I guess I can't complain it is a rattle can, I guess I should have gotten out my airbrush....

Anyways so I'm trying to make sure the 1.9 course isn't to easy....LOL The CC01 can't handle much.

As far as Rally goes, I race Scale Rally with TT01's they suck, they perform like a CC01 on the rocks, very scale, so any On road touring car with enough clearance should work just fine.

Well I have the morning off, well I do now...LOL So I'm going to work on the course....... "thumbsup"

 you just admitted to pre-running:shock:

:-P

TXRCO - Allows practice runs and setup runs as long as it does not interfere with the Comp itself.

We decided that we would rather allow practice runs than setup impossible courses. Of course most of the time we don't have time for course testing. So we have started pre-testing before hand just to make sure an area is crawlable and than we setup a course on comp day. But this doesn't always work, Concrete Canyon proved this....LOL

The really sad part is I have been so busy that I haven't really been on my track since last April I guess, other than for pics and quick test runs before the comp, the first few comps I only had time to make sure everything turned on...LOL

I'm hoping to get some time to make sure the course is crawlable and some practice would be great, but I have a feeling Tom and Long will be the ones to beat, I hate to think I'll loose on my own course, but when Tom and Long have a House, wife and Kids we will talk....LOL

The last real rally'n I did was when I shot this video in this thread

After that the Storms came through Texas and kicked our ass, I spent until this summer rebuilding, I lost every fence line we had to running water.

eh, I was just razzing ya'. I mean, it's YOUR house. I know these comps aren't for money and prizes, but fun and bragging.

Oh I know, but you never know when someone is actually being serious, so when online it's best to assume it's not sarcasm....LOL

Plus I want to point out that we don't run by the NAT rules, we run timed events with time penalties. Reverse is ALLOWED and pretty much required in most courses or of course DIG.

Oh and we do plan to hand out plaques at the end of the season, so all comps will be part of the Points Season.

Maybe one day we will take an event entrance fee and make a Winning pot instead of a plaque, but I'm worried that might take the fun out of it all.

Well I got some work done on the 1.9, Wish I had a solid axle 1.9 to test, but the CC01 will have to work. So far the course seems pretty nice, I'm yet to try it backwards, I just hope it's not to easy....LOL

2.2 Modified and 1.9 Scale need to plan on being prepared for mild water and Mud, nothing waterproof, just wet tires, splash resistant.

Some pics.........
